On #2, the contrast of the top of the peeling paint vs the underside of it is awesome. #5 has some great lines in it as well. It's too bad that the closest track(?) broke.

Ah, it’s nice to see your shots once again. I love black and whites and these have caught my eye. Number 1 and 2 are one my faves, the paint is just awesome I love the contrast in all of them. I must say nice work. You use digital of film?

If you can't beat them, shoot them!

Absolutley love the contrast in 1 and 2 and am fond of number 5 too. Is this the same navy yard some people were shot in not too long ago? Or maybe im thinking of something else. Good shots, i've been skipping my lunch breaks as well too but so I can go work in the dark room.

Really good contrast with in image 2. It is the one that really stands out although the others are really nice as well.

I can't remember exactly but it may have been Bresson that did similar peelings in his photographs. It gives a good texture. I can almost feel the paint flakes break as I run my hand over them. lol.

Great job!

Thank you all for your kind words, i also liked the first two the best, but i kinda thought that the last one was pretty funny, i actually laughed when i came across it...

MC - this is the same navy yard with the shooting, they are currently turning it in to a pretty large commercial park, although it is still owned by the navy, and there are some naval engineering firms still working on the grounds, it is a decommissioned base.

whats left of the psych - i am still using my Panasonic DMC-FZ7, which is somehwere right between dSLR and PnS. I couldnt afford a good lense and a body at the same time, so i decided to go this route and i love it. i am also getting much better at working into b+w in photoshop than i was b4.

B-Rock - the paint shot is a copy cat shot of a lot of the ones i have seen on here, but when i see it i just cant not take the shot, and i feel exactly the way you do about almost being able to feel the texture of the print... which is kind of an amazing thing...

thanks again for your kind words

I wouldn't consider my self a real photo critic. But I also really like #2 (the paint peeling) the detail is really deep. And #4, I like how the stuff in the background reflects off the window, you can't really tell if it is inside or out till you get to the broken section. Nice work. You have some great tallent!

Thanks alot.

and i think that you should consider yourself a photo critic, photography is so subjective, and your opinion is just as valid and anyone elses. it might be true that other have a better grasp of technical issues and can comment more pointedly on those subjects, but dont discredit yourself based on that.

Everyone is a critic... that is what we are hoping for around here...

These are generally very dull, lack any atmosphere. The composition is all off - too messy!! It's not really working. I don't think you have a natural eye for composition to be honest.

I really like all of these. Very strong, just enough contrast.
The photos of the tracks have my eyes moving smoothly through the picture(especially the first).
Good stuff.
