|
You must have a cheap maglite. My 2d is brighter than my keychain flashlight. Not to say it isn't dim, but it isn't as bright as my 2d. It does however have a wider field of light due to more of the bulb being more exposed...

| | | It depends. If it's fresh batteries in the 3D, then it'll beat most LED lights. But, the light output from a 3D drops by nearly half after an hour of use, which can really skew the comparisons. Speaking of which, I need to get a hold of a LED for my 3D...

| | | The only problem I've had is that the stay-on switch doesn't work very well. Just when you get the light where you need it, it turns off. I tried a "unique" method to get it to work. I threw it against the wall. It didn't make the light stay on, but I now know what it looks like on the inside without having to spend all that time on the little screws. :o Not to worry, I still have the two more. And extra batteries. And a cool extra-brite LED that I'll hook up to a 555 timer when I get a chance. And, of course, I have the smug satisfaction of supporting the site.

That's what it's all about. I got to use my light on Friday. The combined power of two flashlights helped Liz and I figure out her car problem, and fix it. They stayed on and bright in the pouring rain (which is good, because I'm not very bright). So handy!

I have that problem with my huskey lights. The regular UER lights do that occasionally, but not as often

Same thing here too. The husky light isn't really useful for walking in dark area anyway.

| | | I used mine for the fifth or so unprepared explore today (nice big old factory!) and only had the keychain light... it was very useful. As for the switch, it took about two weeks for mine to break in... now it works really well and keeps it lit with no trouble.

| | | I got it the other day...I'm impressed. It didn't look like much but last night I tested in darkness and its brighter then my.... MEC turtle LED 2x AA LED mag lite 3C mag lite As bright as a 5 led Excalibur LED light running on two Lithium batteries (which I am now gonna return) equal to my stream light luxon/led light. Again, its insanely bright for size and price. The excalibur light is a $50 heavy duty LED light that I bought for $15 which puts out the same intensity as this light [last edit 8/2/2007 7:25 PM by Air - edited 2 times]
