| | the "city" that is lubbock texas < on 3/19/2007 11:58 AM >
| | | I'm moving to Austin at the end of summer, so I figure its about time to start hitting up the good locations in Lubbock before I go. I'm currently scouting the steam tunnels (I'm 99% sure I have a foolproof way to get in) under tech. We went to the pioneer last year, and also that other weird building that you face if you stand straight on a diagnal from the front entrance. (I don't know what it is, but you can get onto the roof no problem, and theres a weird little restaurant in the back). Also did the abandoned part of the airbase (interesting if it isn't locked) What other good stuff is around here? We found some steam tunnel looking things out by Ransom canyon, but they had padlocks. thanks

| | | So does anyone happen to know if there's a tunnel system for utilities underneath downtown Lubbock. While looking for a way into a building I moved a manhole cover and found a completely flooded hatch with a ladder leading down and lots of utility pipes running through it. Looks like phone lines and data cables.

I seriously wouldn't doubt it. The interesting thing about downtown Lubb is that there is an entire network of underground offices/hallways/walkways that connect to the buildings there. I know there is an underground walk that connects the two main banks downtown together. Its quite eerie to see, very quiet and weird.
