Mine almost never do. They imprint on my wife who does most of the feeding and pan duty. I found Miny ( a Russian Blue) in a Minyards parking lot and brought her home: She runs when I walk in the room. I found Purdy ( a White true Persian in a ditch and it took two days to coax him to me: He only watches my feet like I'm going to step on him. I found Bootsy (Tabby and White DSH now 17) after she was thrown from a car near our lake house: She loves me and all men. I found Lilly, a non-deaf Blue Eyed solid white DLH wandering our neighborhood: She tolerates me and likes me OK sometimes. I found Yao Ling (a Black and White DSH in a vacant house next door to my wife's office: She'll let me pet her only on the stairs. I found Stormy sitting in the median in the pouring rain and had to carry him on my shoulders on my bicycle home: He loves everybody and must race me down the stairs every time. He also always wins. I found Baby Huey in the apartment complex: Turns out he's completely fearless and loves everybody. I guess I'm faring OK in the "Cats that like me..." department. I just found out that all the other nearby apartments are gonna be demo-ed too so the problem of unwanted cats may be even greater that I first thought. Since I've been out of the Humane Society/ Animal rescue biz for quite a while, my connections are pretty limited but with the additional complexes coming down, I think I'll follow your advice and contact the media and animal welfare concerns. I definitely can't handle any more foster children.

Wow, I had no idea. Cats are some of the easiest pets to maintain; why people turn them loose is a mystery to me. That's sad stuff and unfortunately, a common situation, expect in Asia for some reason...umm, some solutions aren't acceptable. They eat the damn rats too.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

| | | Posted by Barry Kooda So, Any of you hardy explorers in the Dallas area interested in a little search and rescue drop me a line. This has got me thinking about other similar situations where apartments are abandoned and one time pets are left top fend for themselves. A few might make it out but there are plenty of photos on this site that show some don't. It's time to start the U.E.A.L.F. (Urban Explorers Animal Liberation Front)

Sorry, I've been pretty busy lately. I got both and will respond after I get some of my school work out of the way. Good to see another explorer in Shreveport/Bossier. Want a cat?

It's ok. Haha, I'd love to take a cat but we live out here in sort of the country on a 5+ acre lot and have our fair share of wild cars. Sorry I can't help, I need help myself. They keep having babies. Lol but get back to me
