i like 6, though its a bit crooked :p

i also like 2, though i think it could have been much better if you got a higher angle on those books/papers, and just focussed on them alone. to me, all that stuff in the background kind of takes away from the shot and leaves it with no definite focal point-a defined focal point being something that usually makes for the best image. use the lines and colors in the environment to draw your focus to one really interesting point.

are you shooting film or digital? an excellent rule of thumb when shooting digital-take LOTS of shots, from all angles, even if they dont seem too too great at the time. that way you'll have lots to choose form later, and you'll also discover what makes a good shot, as you advance as a photographer - and eventually framing and composition will just happen naturally!

good job though, keep em coming!

I'm shooting digital. I wish I had enough money to get a decent lens that doesnt have any barrel distortion and has a lower f-stop.

Do you think that #2 would be better if I cropped it right at where the desktop begins? I was considering doing that but decided against it.

i dont think itd be too great cropped, and your image would end up really small. you can fix barrel distortion easily in photoshop, and you an find for most cameras, older manual lenses that will work just as good as many new automatic ones, for REALLY cheap. we're talking like, 50 bucks cheap, for great lenses. might be worth looking into. what kind of camera is it?

Kinda hard to do, considering I don't own photoshop, or any image editing software at the moment. Although I do have some program that came with my computer but all you can do is add a border, crop, and overlay text. All of these pictures are straight from the camera.

The camera happens to be a Pentax, so yeah I know that it can use every Pentax lens ever made.

I bet you could find Photoshop 7 somewhere for pretty cheap, if not free... as they dont even make it anymore. I still use 7 a lot, and i have 7, CS, and CS2 at my disposal. 7 just runs faster and has slightly less features.

i really only like 1 & 2.

1 has this wierd sense of symmetry going on...maybe if you shot it from the middle of the room, rather than the left corner. show some more of the left wall...

2 is nice because there's so much going on. the papers in the draw and the room in the background. that one, I would shoot at a lower aperature, so you get a smaller depth of field, and the background is a little more blurred. it's got nice color, but the room isnt that interesting, you want the eye to stay in the foreground.

but yeah, just shoot everything you can. look at lots of other photographers that you like and figure out why you like their work. you'll eventually pick out compositions that work for you.

bitches get stitches.
