1) don't save photos as .gifs, go JPG!

2) timestamps on photos are ugly.

yeah the time stamp is fug.

Also stick to shooting raw or high rez JPEG, everything else sucks. Low res images degrade everytime you process them, so its best to skip it all together.

Okay, so in the future I'll lose that time stamp. But my camera is good. Its 7.2 mega pixles and saves to my computer as big 3072 x 2304 JPEG images. But to get them on the inter net I need to resize them and using Ifran View (all I got, is this bad? What better) I can only save in Gif or JPG, both of which come out looking not to good. How can I get them to resize and show with the quality they have comming off my camera? Is it a matter of new picture software?

U can use picasa. Or d/l photoshop to 'test it out'.
Just remember make all the edits from the raw file and save them as tiff's. Then only degrade to jpeg to save for the web.

Never edit jpeg files, they just degrade with each adjustment.

These may seem harsh, but gentle does not a good critique make.

What is the subject of 1? The entire machine? The composition does not compliment the photo.. I see the machine, but have no idea why I'm supposed to care about it. My eyes want to look past it to find something else interesting. ... and they fail in that as well. And your exposure is off (but it is a challenging one, to be sure). Google "photo composition" and you'll get lots of good tips. Also, it seems a bit out of focus on the left side.

The second one, I can appreciate that you're trying a more creative composition... but again, what is the subject of the photo. What am I supposed to be looking at?

Thanks guys, but actually yokes I really dont have a point with the pictures, they were both snaped quickly and when I got home I really liked them, I dont know why. Dont worry, Ill get the hang of this photography thing eventually. I'll take your advice and read up on google.

There are lots of good beginner guides to photography online. It is a great time to be a noobie. Soon you'll be able to know you like the photo before you take it, and not just after you get home.

1 i agree i dont know what exactly im looking at, but good idea next time try focusing on a certain aspect of the machine.

2 would be better if you got the whole fan in the picture
