it was all a hoax. Lynch me if you want, doesn't matter.

Rob had a bad drinking problem. I mean bad. Bad enough that he ended up losing his job, his house and all. For the last month of so, he *has* been somewhere in Alberta. He would call me from time to time, normally getting an update from here. So any post from about the first week of january on were me. Not him.
The fake death thing was his and my way of tying up loose ends. He was starting over and wanted to leave everything he had behind. He did the fake death thing as a way of burning out not fading away. It was a stupid idea in the first place, but I was so sick of what had been happening in my personal life that I didn't argue, just went ahead and did it.
it was a cruel thing to do in hindsight. But rest assured. he is alive, Everything that was is now gone. He's started a new life out there and thats the end of it.
and he now goes by his birth name Robert Nichols. not Rob McKay.

A lot of us have been had. I said that I would be the first one to get up in arms over this issue if proof were given that it was a hoax and now we have that proof. Jesus Jones' account is already closed due to our policy surrounding the death of a member, but I've also temp-banned TheOwl's account until we can sort out who is who.

It's a sad situation either way. And I am sorry to anyone that any of this really affected. Some people have hard issues in life, and they need to deal with it.. but this was certainly the WRONG way to deal with it, to have a community mourn and pour out their emotions towards this lie.
Clearly people have their issues... and I am not one to judge people for them.
I just hope at least an apology from JJ or theowl, since he clearly didn't apologize in that letter he sent you.
It's a shame that things worked out like this.

I didn't crack the case, I merely presented the FACTS. I did my homework about the situation so I could further understand the process of it.
It's just a shame what this has caused for the emotions of all members that responded to that thread and poured their emotions towards the situation.
