The first one is really dull in color and I dont like it very much, its a neat idea, but with leaving the shutter open longer and the kid's feet moving, the body just looks too blurry. However, the rest are excellent, the last one would be perfect for a band shot, and in number 2 did you add the wings and halos in after you took the picture or did you use a flashlight while the shutter was still open? Good work with the new lense!

1 and 3 do nothing for me. 3 is also way messed perspective-wise - if you're using a lens that wide and the building is your subject, you really need to do your best to keep the verticals vertical. If you can't shoot it that way, fix it after the fact.

4 is cool as long as it's not a band shot - if it was, it'd be in danger of ending up here:

But as an exploring group shot, it's pretty cool. The lighting's nice.

2 is teh awsum. Not a gallery-wall kind of shot, but one of the more original photos I've seen in a while, great (and accurate) use of light painting. How many tries did it take?

yep.

Thanks for the idea's..

I bought a wide angle lens because I like the distorted kind of look, BUT I definately see why you say it...for 3

The "band photo" isnt a band, im happy to say...just my mates messing about..

and the angels one, took one attempt because we were in a rush to get back home...and luckily it came out OK first time...

turk ;)

What did you use to give the halo effect, did it take a lot of tries? It turned out quite nicely. And I dont think if it was a band shot it would end up in "the hall of douchebags" its a decent location, just depends on what the band would be doing in the shot and their expression.
