Explorers shot dead in abandoned building (BC)??
< on 2/16/2007 6:45 PM >

I was talking to my sisters boyfriend and he said that his friend was telling him that in BC (i forget the city name close to surrey i think) four explores were exploring an abandoned building and a homeless person got scared and shot them all dead! Anyone hear anything on this story? Its going to make me second guess entering a building. Input?

That would be a good story. I checked all the newswires and nothing. I work at a News channel. Maybe your sister's boyfriend is trying to scare you a bit?

Havent heard about it. It seems unlikely, most homeless want nothing to do with randoms anyway. Plus, most guys that cant even afford a hole in the wall to live in dont pack heat. Then again, crazy shit happens all the time.

If he said it was a drug dealer the story could hold some water but a homeless man with a gun seems too far fetched. Now if it was a lead pipe that would be a different story.

Maybe in NYC i could see a hobo packin some heat under his Government supplied Thinsulate, but still they probably wouldnt shoot 4 innocent explorers... unless they were tryin to fuck with him (((BUM FIGHT!!!))) but i worked for homeless outreach (it was an excuse to get into local city abandonments legally) and most of the homeless people are chilled out and actually sometimes just wanna bum a cigarette and talk with you.... so i wouldnt get too spooked about it. BUT HEY!!! ANYTHINGS POSSIBLE!.... just dont let it stop your excellent choice of a hobby.

PS.

Something we used in the Homeless patrol to notify homless that we were there and meant no harm was yelled "Hello! The Camp!" I know it sound's rediculous but they will then know your not gonna fuck with em

ask Jester, he is in that area... if anyone was killed, I am sure he would of found out about it... unless of course it was him.

I like homeless people.
It kind of sucks how they get a bad rep, but they're mostly cool people.
I used to know a homeless man, and he had the best stories. I used to give him pencils and paper, and he'd draw the most amazing pictures. Extremely realistic portraits, etc.
And he could play blues harmonica like no other. So good, in fact, that he'd jam with local metal bands when they'd play at a bar nearby.

Either way, it could happen. Homeless people, if they're fiendin', can be pretty insane.

When I lived in the ATL I had a friend, seemed like a normal dude, wore Polo clothes and drove a Fiero, that became homeless (I think). If you've been in Atlanta, the Boho section of town is called Little 5 Points and it has the requisite cool Boho shops and clubs. Over the years I would see Dude more and more wandering around down there, I don't know where he slept. I feel bad now because I literally saw him go from "normal" to what he became and though we weren't ever close, he was someone I could have been better toward. Sigh.

You betcha

You can't really say it didn't happen because you don't know what every homeless person is like. From what I have seen they can be really nice to really insane. So you never know I guess

I'm glad to see another person who doesn't have a low opinion of the homeless. If I have the time (I often do), I'll sit down with a homeless person and strike up a conversation if they seem social. I met a really nice guy who calls himself "Cheech", who turned out to have had a fascinating life. I still se him from time to time.

This story probably isn't true, but I won't completely discount it.

They always have great stories.
The guy i knew had a very interesting story, and it's amazing how he even got to where he was. My family and i were trying to get him back in touch with his kids and his parents, but they had no desire of even making contact with him.
Such a shame.

A homeless guy did shoot a bridge painter in NYC last spring. It was on the cross bronx express way I think. I was in the city on business at the time and it was on the news. Most are harmless and can be helpful to explorers but there is always the oddball one. I remember reading an article in San Francisco that something like 40% of the homeless there suffer from a mental illness.

It was in September, we saw their silhouettes fade away, outlined on the horizon against the rays of the setting sun.
