|  | | | prior to me visiting this power plant, this was one of those places that whenever anyone posted a thread i turned away. it isn't that i wasn't interested in their photos, it was that i didn't want my "holy shit" moment ruined for me.
after exploring for awhile you sort of get desensitized to certain things, the shock value upon entering a place you've never seen kinda wears off, mainly because you've practically already seen it since 30 other people post photos of the place before you got a chance to see it in person.
i'll never forget the first time i entered the theater at norwich, no one had ever posted photos of the place anywhere (besides darkpassage). before i turned the corner and stumbled upon it, i didn't even know it existed. so when i finally saw it i nearly shat my pants, i miss that feeling.
i didn't want my "holy shit" moment ruined when i entered the turbine hall so after i saw motts / nick post photos of the place ages ago i said "no more!" and avoided "power" based threads until i finally got to witness it first hand.
i'm glad i did, this place was mind blowing. tough to shoot at points, but goddamn what a beauty. these shots were taken about 2 months ago, i didn't cover anywhere near enough ground in there during the short time we visited, i plan on returning soon.

The set is good yet it's very impersonal and not as original as your others. #1 and 20 are the strongest shots.

totally agree and i figured i would catch shit for it.
scale is a huge issue here. i shot a bunch of stuff to illustrate the sheer size but it just doesn't look like i shot it, ya know? #13 is probably 25 feet tall but hard to convey without me standing next to it.
this place is BIG and it isn't the type of setting i'm totally comfortable in, especially with so much light coming in.
