You can get a small DOF with a wide angle lens as long as you focus on something very near. I don't know how people can say "bad bokeh", I think that's a pretty gay comment! LOL


I can't seem to get it with my 20mm, I have to be pretty far back and then it loses the effect. I used to love my 50mm before it broke. That was freeeesh

Digi or film??? Digi has a reduced DOF anyway, well with the smaller sensor!

I'm not sure if the cropped sensor does have an effect (it could, I'm just not sure especially if your using ef-s lenses) but the best I can do is this with my 20mm on my 350d...Its nowhere near as slick for detail shots as my 50mm...
