| | | I know these are far from perfect, but I feel I'm getting somewhat better. Oh well, critique away. There wasn't too much to this location, so I didn't really have much to deal with. (I kinda critiqued them myself a bit, you can add on) 1.
2.
-Possibly a little to contrasty, but I like the way the branches turned out. 3.
4.
-Not too much going on in this one. Although, there isn't much going on in any of these. 5.
6.
-I wish I could've angled it right in the middle of the two windows, but it was impossible to. 7.
8.
-Meh Different location: 9.
-I thought it was centered at the time, but apparently it wasn't. 10.
Say whatever, I'm still learning.

| | | I'm still learning as well, so this is how I might postprocess these... 1) rotate to the right a bit to straighten it and crop the bottom some. Maybe some more contrast too. 2) I like it the way it is. 3) I like it too 4) Not sure about it... 5) Maybe more contrast here. 6) Rotate left to straighten 7) I like this one. 8) haha.. I like random signs! 9) Maybe just crop it a little to center it... 10) Has good movement to it I'm sure others will have more to say about 'em.. I'm not great at critiquing, but this is just what I observed.

| | | Haha, that's an interesting place. It's overgrown with trees and such. In the summer time, it's nearly impossible to get there, let alone walk around inside. And then you've got all the bees and spiders and stuff to worry about. Well here's the urban legend behind the place. It was a meth dealers house. He got busted and his house got searched and destroyed. They started demolishing it, then said fuck it, and left. You can see where the fireplaces used to be, and where some rooms were. The swimming pool is still there:
...and the remains of the garage/basement are there. Either way, nobody really knows anything about this place, other than it probably looked badass like 10 years ago.

| | | The only one that does anything for me in the redone 6. The rest have4 very snap-shot compositions and they don't hold my interest very long. I'd work on using more interesting angles and avoiding the all encompassing location shots. Focus on smaller details. I also think that the heavy lack of color is hurting these. They look very dull (in tone), maybe try shooting on a sunnier day to enhance the saturation. Keep working at it.

| | | I also prefer that edited version a lot! Great play of the wood color against the grays. Overall I see a lot of shape distraction in your work, especially those placed too near where my eye rests as a focal point... it disturbs the harmony for me. Example: 3) Lettering 1) Tree in foreground 2) Upper-right diamond. Cheers!

Thanks for the tips. And yeah, I don't know how to make this place look more colorful. For a sunny day to come, it'll probably be springtime, and the place is overgrown with bushes and shrubbery and stuff, and nearly impossible to walk around in. I figure the best way to make this look better is to go when it's covered in snow. Maybe. I dunno. But thanks

Ah, alright. I tend to not notice those things when taking a picture, I only see 'em after they're up on the computer. But thanks for the critique.

There will be sunny days during the winter and I'd take advantage of them. Shooting with snow on the ground can be quite difficult cuz the reflective nature of the snow wreaks havoc with your light meter. Keep trying though. As for what Glass said, I agree with that. If you're serious about making art out of your photography you should take time with each shot and compose it before you click the shutter. A photo professor told me once that you should have 90% of your editing done before the shot is taken. Seemed like good advice.

| | | I don't like the exposure on any of these. You really need to watch the lighting and see where it falls. Also be careful of catching too much bright sky because that will have blown highlights if you properly expose everything else.
