When I look at this picture the first thing I see is a big blurry void. There needs to be some kind of focal point in the image. That one object just isn't doing it.

This isn't boot camp and you are not a ninja. But you sure look like an idiot in that outfit.

when i have a really boring picture i find that it helps to crop it in interesting ways, up the contrast, and add a border.

hope you don't mind an example:

So you think poor photography can be remedied with cool borders?
Maybe?

Nope - I'm still a rank amateur.

Listen DevilC you n00b, if you want to make it in this goddamn hobby and be taken seriously you need more of the following:
- BIGGER border, mos def two tone (25 UE points)
- chairs (10 UE point per chair, bonus 5 for each leg off the ground)
- an abundance of photoshop filters (5 UE points per filter)
- selective desaturation, ala an MC Hammer video clip (50 UE points)
- selective blurring for that tilted focal plane look (150 UE points)
- an orgy or corridors (25 UE points per corridor)
- tilt (1 ue point for every degree from flat)

all together in ONE photo, it will be the ULTIMATE UE PHOTOGRAPH. A photo so fresh that Thomas "The Godfather" Kirkbride will rise from the grave and buy a print for his coffin. Throw it in a catchily named thread with the words decayed/forgotten/lost/abandoned for another 10 UE points each.

Then, and only then, shall you be qualified to talk down on others! Insensitive clod!

Not really, his is off center, to a much more reasonable extent... its only about a third of the way up from the bottom and a little bit to the right too. Overall its pretty much the right idea I think.

This photo struck a chord with me. I had a razor that looked exactly like that while backpacking around South-East Asia back in the early 90's. Really brought back some memories.

As for photo critique, I'd have to parrot the other posters here - the razor is the focal point, and it needs to be closer to center. A pic like originally posted should've been taken from a further vantage, and more of the background in focus. Being so far off center, the razor wasn't really the focus IMHO.

[00:47:41] <SaraBellum> I'm quite well, though lonely. I had three days of non-stop Cunting, and now I'm all alone again.

so basically,when/if i go back, and retake said picture,i want to try to get mroe of the razer,so that it is the focal point, because the blur seems to be more of a focal point then the razer?

Dsankt, you are sorrowfully mistaken.....

Barns and houses are the shit. Just look at how many dB entries there are for them here. The ones with dead cats and racoons interest me the most.

especially wack ones with no personal articles left behind that could at least point to some history of the location, and <sigh> significance.
