| | | You should explore your basement for practice.

| | | haha i kind of feel like you started this thread just for the heck of it. and that poll is kind of the same way. no apparent reason bring night vision goggles with you at all times so you can see the hidden lasers. and always always ALWAYS bring a grappling hook seriously though, cameras add another dimension to exploring. whether its documenting old buildings, creating a piece of art, or simply proving that you've been somewhere that few people have been. aka street cred. and having essential gear such as a flashlight and some decent shoes can enable you to enjoy yourself a little more. in response to making an exploration meaningful, its really a subjective topic. different people find meaning in different things. personally, i enjoy several things. for one, i enjoy aesthetics. places that have beautiful, unique, and interesting physical features are always exciting. also, when exploring an old abandoned site, i like to know the history of the place so i can better understand my surroundings and make the most of the visit. just be smart and dont get caught. once you become more experienced, you might try exploring some more difficult sites that require more than just walking on in. having to climb onto a roof is always more fun than walking through an open door. also, dont brag about the place to idiots who are likely to go trash it or something. i've made this mistake before and now that bulding has become extremely difficult to access. UE is just about common sense and common courtesy. [last edit 12/27/2006 4:24 AM by I am the Bear - edited 1 times]

| | | If by "gear" you mean flame-throwers, beer and strippers, then yes, it would make the trip more exciting.

I think i need to seriously consider exploring with you sometime. Minus the flame-throwers, though.

Why do you think I explore with him? Though, of late the "strippers" have been $5 guttersluts. I'm a $10 minimum man. Step up, manitou.

What can I say? I'm cheap. I'm still exploring with the strippers that we found during our secret brothel exploration.

| | | joicey, on a serious note, if you have a grappling hook and you get caught, things could potentially go downhill fast. police dont like it when you have breaking and entering tools with you. these could include lockpicks and screwdrivers also. but sometimes lockpicks may be necessary if you want to get into a locked off portion of an abandonments, and sometimes buildings are only accessible from the roof. just weigh the risks and rewards and be ready to accept the consequences if things go bad

| | | This is UER, right? How will Joicey ever make it to the 13th level if he's worried about mere felonies and death? Grappling hook? Please. Start with the basics first. Black full face mask, black ninja suit with tabi boots, Kevlar gloves, and a backpack with: pry bars, gasoline powered cut-off wheel, a couple million candle flood lights, and a chainsaw for good measure.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

This thread is totally dead. [last edit 1/1/2007 11:21 PM by manitou - edited 1 times]
