Xmas Eve Adventure

I have a Nikon D80...I just got it a few weeks ago, so I'm still learning how to take full advantage of all the features. All of these were taken in raw, which I am having my very first experiences with, but I like it a lot so far. I'm planning on taking a Nikon class in February to learn more. Oh, and I forgot my tripod when we went here...I am so mad at myself for that.

Anyway...let me have it! I'm very eager to improve my work.

I would like to get the berries more blue...

With number one, i would recommend trying to get the shot as dead on the door as possible. This way, you don't have any other light sources, or areas with light peeking in. Then, do whatever exposure is correct, and hopefully this will get your berries more blue.

i'd say the first one is interesting to me, but you need to either get rid of whatever's on the right -- or show more of it.

I don't see how people forget their tripods. My camera and tripod are the two things that are always together. I always leave other stuff behind, such as flashlights, gloves, coats, batteries, etc. Never left a tripod behind. Good pics btw.

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I forgot the tripod because I was going on a tiny bit of sleep, I was exhausted...I had forgotten my gloves, too. It sucks, but we'll definitely be back there so I'll have another chance.

The last picture of the water tower is my favorite. And I love that branch coming through the window in the third picture. Good job! Looking forward to going back there.

This is a good set. I like the angles you've used. The time you got these at was definitely a good choice. The last shot is my favorite. It has a great angle and a great light. I definitely agree that you should crop off the light source to the right in the first shot. I also think that the last one would be less crowded if you took it from a different angle and left out the tree. Overall, good stuff.
