Hmmm...

I don't know if you're shooting digital or film. I don't know if you're using a tripod or not (a tripod in these shots would be best). And I'm not the king of good photography myself (I'm really quite a noob). Never the less, the subject matter is interesting, and I'd be curious to learn more about where these pictures were taken. For the sake of the fact that this is a photo "critique" forum, I will try to give my views on each photo.

From a purely photographical art criticism stance, your photos aren't terribly great. You've got issues with focus fuzziness in most of them, the exceptions being #1 and #4. Composition is another problem, as the subject matter in almost all the pictures is interesting, but the compositions don't work. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not trying to bash your photography. I truly don't know if I could do better. I'm just trying to offer advice I hope is more "constructive" than "hurtful."

Okay, now in detail:

#1: Chairs
The good: The subject matter is interesting, chairs apparently littered in the exterior of the location. Pretty neat. The lighting is nice, and the focus, while not perfect, is alright.
The bad: The chair in the foreground, which seems like the main focal point of the image, is cut off at the bottom of the frame. The shot would be better with improved composition.
Suggestions: Try moving the camera away from the objects to get a better sense of the surroundings and a sense of spacial relations. Moving the camera lower to the ground would also help the dramatic look of the photo. The colors are good, but some added contrast, perhaps with a digital cleanup tool, would improve things, but isn't necessary. There's a lot of potential here.

#2: Window
The good: Shots like this are common, but they still continue to hold interest, no matter where or when they are taken.
The bad: Focus issues.
Suggestions: Also, one of the most interesting aspects of the image is the apparent warping of the window frame. That would have been more interesting to focus on in this image.

#3: Peeling Paint
The good: Peeling paint is interesting.
The bad: Peeling paint is one of the most over-photographed aspects of an abandonment people photograph when they want to look artsy. Despite being a very interesting indication of abandonment, peeling paint has become almost a photography cliche for urban exploration. The focus, also, is troubling.
Suggestions: Peeling paint can still be interesting, but you need to find specific subject matters where the peeling paint seems unusual. Specific equipment, light switches, and signs make compelling compositions when you absolutely need to focus on the peeling paint aspect.

#4: Exterior Window:
The good: Focus, lighting, and camera angle are all very good.
The bad: Not much, although having the window centered is a bit dull (but not bad).
Suggestions: Nothing comes to mind. This is a fine photo.

#5: Stove piece:
The good: Very interesting subject matter, apparently left in-situ.
The bad: Focus issues, and not enough other aspects to the composition.
Suggestion: Find a creative way to display this intriguing artifact. You may need to pick it up and position it in a new way, which would nullify it's in-situ status, but could make the image more interesting. Better focus would allow the viewer to fully appreciate how cool this artifact is.

#6: Piano:
The good: Another interesting subject matter, this time with a decent hint of the room its in. The focus, while not perfect, is better than some of the other pictures in this series. The lighting is also quite nice.
The bad: Bottom of piano gets chopped off in the frame. Compositional problems with too much dead space on the far left of the image.
Suggestions: Simply back away from the piano, and alter your angle so you are facing the piano at more of a 3/4 angle view. This will balance the picture better, show more of the room location, and maintain a rule of thirds while eliminating some of the dead space.

Anyways, those are my thoughts. The series is quite nice in general, and I would love to hear more about this location. Keep up the good work!

I know what you mean about the focus. When I try to zoom in closer on the subject it seems to just fuzz up. I've never had this problem before and don't know if it's the camera or if I moved when I took the shot.

I was not happy with the chairs. I thought the whole pic looked a little washed out. I wanted to see if anyone else thought that as well.

Thanks!

damn that piano is fucking cool...

the negative space in 6 is fine...but you need to include the whole piano in the shot....

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.
