It's not like having goggles (which I imagine must be great, if not expensive) and it can be a little cumbersome, but it's very nice for night infiltrations in busy areas where a flashlight might attract attention. I own NV and have only used it rarely where I had a great chance of getting caught where I really shouln't be. However light discipline etc will usually protect you. Although most places are easy to get into and even some active places are more accessible in the day time, other places are not. Night time affords several positive effects daylight doesn't. More easily concealed Less likely to be detected Better chance of spoting security(who have lights) before being spoted Probably more lacks security. There are just as many negatives as well. When people ask if they spy rig in on hanglider threads come around you have all the right, but general discussions and polite questions tend to get this response.
