| | Ahhh, it sucks when a building disappears.......... < on 11/20/2006 3:40 PM >
| | | So I thought I'd check out a old Elementary School I had come across while out working one day. It'd been about three years since I entered it, but had driven by every so many months or so and it was still lurking in the overgrowth off the road. So I grab my camera, got some batteries for it, my flashlight, some water and a breather. On the way home from work, I turn off and head down the dirt lane that went past. What do I find? A GD housing development......under construction. I was all ready to enter and play with the camera. Last time I was in there the desks were still there, lots of paperwork and books from the 50's was there. Bummed.........

| | | I had a similar experience when I went back to visit Tampa after moving away. I was all ready to explore the Maas Brother's Department Store... but when I got there, it was a dirt lot. Damn.

| | | I went back to NJ to explore an abandoned Shopwrite. To my surprise it was an active shopwrite again. Not everyday you see that.

| | | I agree, I was dying to see St. Augustine's School for Boys in Staten Island. I've heard so many creepy stories, and the photos were gorgeously composed. I finally arrived to the destination and it was already torn down All was left were bricks. Stupid google earth displaying an old photo. I'm sure the underground tunnels still remain. I'd love to check those out someday.

| | | Seems a lot of stuff is getting knocked down..... All we can do is pray for a recession, then no one will be able to afford new buildings and will have to abandon their old ones....... Of course, we'll all loose our jobs and not be able to afford stuf like Maglites and multitools.....shit

I never heard anything good about that location. It had some interesting legends behind it, but that was about it.

| | | I was rambling about trying to enter a building I had come across while working in the area previous. Just expressing a thought how much it sucks to see something go. I was pshyced to try and go in and take some pics. I dropped in rookie, seeing as I'm a rookie...? If it needs moved, move it delete/please.

| | | Just goes to show you, the best time to explore a building, or the best time to take a picture is ... NOW! Happens too many times, you wait a few days, go back, and IT'S GONE... Oh well.
