Hey guys, I'm new to the forums but have been researching, posting, and chatting with a few of you quite a bit. I'm looking to get back out there (and off the computer!) this week.

For anyone interested I'm thinking of heading to the Nabisco Factory in Brea Park (again) to see what kind of progress they've made over there and then also checking out this location in Santa Fe Springs I saw a lead on in another post (near Florence and Bloomfield).

If you're interested in joining a small group of us, let me know, would love to meet some new faces. I'd like to go one night this week for a few hours. I could leave as early as tomorrow night or as late as Friday night (I think Saturday we're doing the El Toro or Tustin Marine bases).

Kind of sudden, I know, but let's make it happen! Post here if you'd like to meetup. Cheers everyone, hope to see you guys soon!

Edit: Fixed city location.

I visited the plant three times in the last two weeks. If you are going to enter the plant, do so from the front gate. Just hop the CMU when the security guard is on the other side of the yard. If you enter through the back entrance (IE the rail-road tracks) there is a sensor on a wooden post and security will respond.

We first entered here and had to evade the security through the building and over the temp fence up front. The second time, I went over the CMU wall on the entrance and exit and was fine. The third time, we entered over the CMU wall, and left out back. We barely made it over the fence before security was on us.

Just be careful. Other than that, it is an AWESOME location and a great trip.

Cheers

I think we were at a different part of the refinery than you... I saw via satellite where you were talking about (i think) but when we were there, there were no railroad tracks. We went to the largest lot. Any interest in heading back there sometime this coming week? We should get a small meet together and head down there.

So a recap of when we (myself and 3 others) went to this location earlier this past week: we visited the site between Norwalk and Bloomfield / Florence and Lakeland. We entered from the Lakeland side just east of the junkyard and auto building. There's an are that's fenced off to the street but appears wide enough for a car to pull in. We jumped the tall fence on the west side of this by climbing and using supports on the other side, avoiding the barbed wire.

We noticed during a perimeter scan that there were some activity towards the center of the plant (lights, and a guard) so we stayed away from that area. We found an old office sort of building with file cabinets and some sort of electrical room. It looked like the place had been gone through in the past so we checked out a few of the cabinets and continued on. The whole grounds are pretty awesome to explore. We didn't get too far inwards (east-bound) until we saw a pickup truck driving around.

They didn't spot us but at this point we were separated from the group (2 and 2) and decided to head back. On the way back we noticed (next to a security house) on the southwest corner was an another office style abandonment, so we explored that. Some neat manuals in there.

In my opinion we weren't there anywhere near long enough and would love to head back soon. Snordhol, any interest? Any nights this week that will work for you?

I am at school in SLO. I wont be back down till thanksgiving and by that time, the building will be down, probably. I would encourage other to enter, but I have seen the whole building. We spend two hours a few weeks back, and came pretty close to getting caught.

I guess I dont want to push my luck too much.

PICTURES - OIL REFINERY (Santa Fe Springs)

Finally getting around to posting some pictures from the oil refinery. We've been twice now, these are digital pictures from a cheap 5mp camera. The legitimate 35mm shots that we took the following visit will be up soon (have to scan them - they came out a lot better obviously).

The first time we went there were these awesome circuitry drawings posted on the walls (you'll see them) and when we back less than a week later someone had stolen them. =/

Anyway, some photos below. Pretty much all of these were from an indoor office type building we were exploring. Most of the film shots were outdoor long exposures. Again, will post those as soon as they're scanned.
