One trick I've done (Some may call it cheating) is look on a construction bidders website and get local job bid opportunities. Many have full descriptions and locations with demolition work. I've gone to sites pretending to be a demo contractor bidding the job.

What an interesting idea...my family owns a local sign company and I was thinking of going with them to jobs and using the crane to get roof access to big buildings or just using the stairs if possible, but your idea is pretty damn good...except you're right...it takes the fun out of it to some extent. Finding a way in is often half the fun.

That be a good way to destroy the business. It's probably best to leave others out of this fun for their own good if they aren't involved.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

I've parked right in front of sites out in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night. Most of the places I explore are out in the country and I end up parking in the road. I suppose it doesn't look as suspicious as I think it does. (someone might assume you just had a breakdown and left to get help or something) but I usually am not too comfortable with it. I found a few sites with parks or other legal parking areas right next door, those are the ones I like best.

One thing I've done while geocaching to avoid attention while searching for a cache in an open or area where I may look suspiciously parked was to take my metal detector with me, people tend to look at me with less suspicion when I have it with me. I have yet to try this method with UE however.

It all depends on the location. Usually onsite if I can.

I park off site but nearby - in the case of an abandoned prison that I go to - this is not possible. So instead of parking on the road I use my 4x4 to hide under some trees so that I am not seen from the air or street.
