First one is pretty gorgeous, amazing light, although the top is a touch dark. The rest need a little post. The lockers are good, but a touch more contrast would make the shot for me.

I'm with desmet on this one, a little post-processing could make these even better... but they're good to begin with. The first is my fav as well. The second is an interesting perspective but the interesting part is unfortunately, the darkest part so there isn't much to see... your symmetry is almost dead-on though - nice job there.

The third is cool but like desmet said I'd play with the contrast, and maybe the colours/saturation as well to really emphasize the details. I like the other two because they give me a sense of what the place was like.

I'm still not crazy about the middle one, but the other two look much better (especially the last one!). Photoshop is your friend

I think the middle one just isn't going to work. The other two I like better, but both need a little less on the dark side now in places (try adjustment layers+layer masks). They have more feeling, which is great, but maybe just a little overboard. The last one especially looks much better....I like the shadow on the stairs.

Also, should have mentioned this before, they all need sharpening including the first one.

People talk a lot of shit about processing digital pictures, but I don't ever remember pulling an 8x10 out of the fix that I didn't make a test strip of first. I also remember fighting my photo teacher about using a looooooooot of magenta. The point is, photos need processing...don't be afraid of it.

Really? I thought they were reasonably sharp to be honest...

Yeah, I guess in a way...I just generally don't like processing at all..I would prefer to get the desired effect inthe first instance..

cheers.

All digital photos need to be sharpened....they're never sharp enough out of the box.

Lord knows I don't want to get into this debate again but IMHO the only thing you're doing by not processing is selling your own images short. Sharpening + the stuff you would do in any darkroom (exposure, contrast, burning and dodging, toning) would be the minimum of processing I'd ever consider limiting myself to. I can understand why people might not like to clone out imperfections or correct distortions or even crop images, but I will never understand what people have against basic processing of images.

I agree, a lot of my shots need to be sharpened , but I would say its probably around 50/50.

I took this shot the other day with my D50 (with kit 18-55 lens, and it hasnt had any post processing, and its pretty damned sharp.

thanks for the critique anyway mate, very helpful.

I'm not sure how to answer this....because they're never as sharp as they should be especially for print.
