Hello all! I'm 18 years old, and I've been dabbling in ue since I was in about 5th grade. I'm starting to explore more regularly, and I joined so I could share stories, experiences ect- with everyone. I'm not entirely sure on how to use a forum, so that's going to be a bit of a struggle at first. I'm going to school to become a photojournalist (but I rarely ever take my good camera with me, I would die if something happened to it) and I hope to one day do a study on ue.

See you around!

Hello, I'm a 22 year old explorer located in Finland. I have been exploring for about 4,5 years, so I'm not new to urban exploration even though I'm new to this site. I've been exploring mostly rural and industrial locations, mainly because that is what I find in my area. However, most types of abandoned locations interest me, as long as they aren't too vandalized. My plan is to start exploring more in other countries as well. I'm also making an urban exploration site of my own, although I'll probably start by just creating a blog.

Hallo all, 22 years old DC area native. I've been interested in UE for longer than I can recall, but I've only made it out to locations a couple times. I hope to gain the confidence to push my limits alone, but I'd love to meet up with other locals.

Cheers!

Hi, a UER member told me about this place and I had to check it out. I'm a photographer in Dallas, TX and love shooting in and around old buildings and urban infrastructure. I shoot with a Canon DSLR as well as with a variety of vintage film cameras. I'm a member of our local hackerspace called Dallas Makerspace, where we do all sorts of weird stuff including some digital and film photography things. A number of other Dallas photographers hang out there. I'll let them know about the site too. You can check out more of photos on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/steevithak

I'm attaching a few random photos I've taken at locations around the Dallas / Fort Worth area, probably stuff you've already seen. That's me in the last one. I'm hoping to learn about some new locations.

I am in love with history. Ever site, every old place is full of history. The local abandonment has lots of photo ops, but what do we know about why it is there?

I feel that one must be fully aware of why, before they explore. Find out about it, get in, and bring that site to us. Show us what is was, and what it is now, before the tides of time take their toll. History repeats itself if not retold and brought to the forefront.

This is my "introductory" post.

Hello folks. I am Dan. Mostly what I do with my cameras is Art and Outdoor Photography, and occasionally manage to sell a few pieces. I enjoy Urban Decay, which was introduced to me by a friend from New York (also a member here Arleeno). I am mostly checking the site out after it was shown to me by my friend, and seeing what can be offered from here. I do hope it pans out, I would like to meet some other people that like to find old buildings here and there.

Hello fellow adventurers!
I've been exploring since I was very young. I grew up in a suburb of Dallas, my mother used to take me to old barns and grain silos to look around while she searched for antiques and photography opportunities. I never knew there was a tittle for people like us!
When I moved to Colorado I continued the tradition by taking my friends to old train tunnels and any abandoned shacks I could find to look around, sometimes we have picnics.
I am glad to have found a group with people all over who enjoy the same hobby and I can't wait to do group explorations with people in my region, I hope to make new friends and explore some great places that I don't know about in my area!

gonna make you sweat till you bleed.

Hey all! I'm a 21 year old EMT with a love of abandoned buildings. I'm a Masshole, born and raised, and I've always been the type to love a good adventure. I attended art school for a while, and my favorite photography was always that which contained scenes resembling things seen in horror movies, or games like Silent Hill. My dream site would be an abandoned town, or neighborhood, that has been left mostly untouched, though I have yet to come across anything close.

I recently moved to the northwestern corner of the state, and have a bunch of new sites I want to check out, so be on the lookout for posts soon! I look forward to actively contributing to the site!

Hi everyone,
My name's BoomShaka, and UE is something I've been interested in for a long time-checking out photos, that sort of thing-but I'm excited to finally dive in. I'm on Vashon Island, near Seattle, if anyone wants to meet up.

Hey, I'm Coolf, for TC, or Star or StarFruit or Jae. I don't really care and I doubt you will. So whichever you choose is just whatever. I live with Woofcat in North Western MA and her and I have been very, very excited to do some Urbexing around this area. I'm 19 (20 in a month) and am a freelance writer of all types of stories. So if anything creative comes from the sites I explore it will be stories of any and all types.

I've been interested in Urbexing for a while now. Specifically ever since when i was in middle school and me and a few friends decided to climb through one of the HUGE drainpipes that runs under a main high way where I used to live. Since then I've been through Rosewood and Henryton and even an abandoned mall where I spent the night. The mall had to have been the best of them all since I used to frequent with my father when I was little. So while walking through the broken down, gutted areas of the mall I just pictured it when it was still thriving with people of all ages. I guess that's one of the things that draws me to this: being able to picture what a place was like before my friends and I happened upon it.

I plan on doing a lot more now that I'm part of this site.

Hi,

I'm guy_montag. I'm a college student here in lovely Cedar Falls, Iowa. My friends and I have always been the explorer types - geocaching, amateur draining, etc, just following rivers, etc. You guys all know the drill ;)

Anyway, we've never really had the means to explore before, but now that we have jobs and cars and live on our own we can do a lot more. I'd visited this forum a lot when I was younger, gazing at the photos with gleaming eyes, memorizing gear lists, reading stories of grand discoveries. What got me back into it was my curiosity, my drive to discover the unknown, which always spikes itself at this time of year.

I just realized that you can't really look at any of the good locations until you're a full member so I'm gonna try to get there as fast as I can before Halloween and before the weather gets too horrible to attempt anything.

Just last night we hit our first two spots, a factory (destroyed, but with some outbuildings) and a trainwreck in the middle of the country hidden in some woods. We had a great time, and I look forward to many more. Hopefully I can meet up with some of the community around here, although it doesn't seem especially vibrant in my well-kept town and area, and do some exploring.

It's a Futuro House. They were designed in the early 1970s as a form of mass-produced housing by architect Matti Suuronen but only about 100 were made and shipped. A fair number are in Texas. That one is one of two that are in Rockwall, TX (one orange near a highway, one green one on private property). Yeah, it's in bad shape and covered with graffiti inside. It's used for a lot of photo shoots by DFW photographers. Even though it's privately owned, it's accessible to the public and no one seems to mind. You can see more photos of it taken in 2003 and 2010 in my Futuro house flickr set:

Hey everyone- new to this site and UrbEx in general. Recently moved to a new city (Atlanta) and have been on the lookout for new areas to explore- both known and unknown. Can't wait to expand my knowledge base of UrbEx photography and have a blast while doing it.

If you're in the area and want to go exploring- hit me up!

Hey everyone - I'm fairly new to the world of abandonment but definitely not to the world of adventure and exploration. My appreciation for modern ruins and urban decay is young but strong, so I'm hoping to pursue it and gain more experience in my home region, the Northeast, particularly in the Hudson Valley, where I spend a large amount of my time. My main exploration so far has been in at the well-known Riverside location (with my friend Levity, who's also on uer), which was a rewarding experience and a good starting point I think. I look forward to exchanging experiences and support with other explorers and becoming more familiar with this awesome community. Thanks!

Hey all!

I'm Xan_Asmodi, mid 20's and from England. New to this site, but not to UE. I've been on http://28dayslater.co.uk for a while and thought I'd pop over here to share some UK sites with you guys.

I've already posted my first thread in the international section (an oil blending plant), so head over and check it out if you fancy it. Cheers!

Hello folks

Names Driin. I been a explorer for about 30 years now. Was introduced to this website recently and have been enjoying the pictures and stories that have been posted. I will post some of my own sometime soon. Kansas City is my base but I tend to do a lot of travel around the country so you just never know where I might come up with some pictures.
