Hey I'm Meg, new here and to UE. Only became a part of LUX within the past month or so but I freakin love every minute! I have always been into photography I have a 35mm slr that I havent taken exploring yet but will soon, my main camera is a Nikon L110 I love it! Most of the time I keep the default auto settings, but I am starting to make more manual adjustments. I plan on posting my best shots for critique which is much appreciated. Also if anyone is willing to explain a few of the settings to me and tell me how to use them better that would be amazing.
I am also up for traveling (within a days drive) for some exploring, as well as hosting others

I guess that is about it...

we found grinders, it caused a photogasm within myself...

Hey everyone, I'm Jill. I live in the Shenandoah Valley of VA. I've always been fascinated with abandoned places, but only recently started exploring about two years ago. Since then I have done over a dozen abandonments in the area, some interesting, some not, and I know of many more that I just need to make time to explore (with two little kids, it's hard to find "me time!") Anyway, thanks for having me, I look forward to talking with everyone and getting to know you all!

Hello I would like to start off by saying thank you to those of you who were kind enough to greet me, comment on my photos, for the good advice on future postings and exploring adventures. I’ve been interested in abandon places since I was about seven or so. My mother used to drive by an abandon water park every now and then. Just seeing that giant blue water slide knowing that there was probably a big scary pool below full of black water sparked an eerie curiosity in me. Now as an adult I would like to pick it up as a hobby.

and yes the day will come you shall die here..the day will come when it too will be swallowed by decay forgotten …the day will come they discover and fear the ghost that was once you..** VL

*waves* Hi all I'm William I'm a semi-professional photographer seeing as i have to relinquish my professional status whist going to school at the art institute of Charleston SC next fall. I grew up in the Shenandoah valley n VA than moved to northern VA so i know the DC MD area as well and then i moved to Pawleys island SC so i know parts of the grand strand but i would like to meet new people to explore with especially in the Charleston and Myrtle Beach areas... i have been doing urbex for about eight years now but ill be the first to admit I'm still learning and would love to hear what anyone has to say

Hello everyone.
I go by Jazz and I have been exploring for a few years now. Photography is a hobby of mine and I am excited to share some of my work on here. I am also looking for feed back.
I moved to the Atlanta, GA area a couple of years ago and thought it would be a good idea to go back to college. I am attending Oglethorpe University for communication and looking at Law school after this.
Since being here I have found a ton of fantastic abandoned locations to working on my photography.

Hi

I'm new to UER and wanted to introduce myself as it seems the done thing.

I live in Brisbane Australia and am interested in exploring stuff underground; drains, tunnels, confined spaces etc. I have been interested in this sort of thing for about a year now and have only just ventured into some drains in the last couple of months. I guess I am a pretty cautions sort. Anyhow I found going in for the first time pretty exciting and have been hooked since and am always on the lookout for time and an opportunity to explore more.

I am particularly interested in Photographing these places and have a flickr stream with mostly just outfalls and drains.

I am also very interested in the history of old drains, as they are mostly unknown to the general public in the present and as you go back further into the past any knowledge (not retained in record inaccessible to the general public) seems to fade into the mists of time. I like trawling old newspapers and finding reference to these places and then trying to piece together where the start and finish and what their course is and mapping it out.

I have yet to get together with any of the folks locally that explore these sort of things, but have chatted to a fair few and all have been very nice and very helpful I hope to soon, time permitting

anyhow, enough ramble

Cheers,

Hi everybody. My name is Tom, and I'm in the Central Florida area, which is terrible for urban exploration (nothing but cow fields). I've been exploring abandoned buildings for several years now, and I hope to find a few decent sites to photograph.

Hey! I've been exploring off and on for the past year. I'm in Pullman (east side of Washington) and there really isn't much out here to explore.

So, I've been limited to exploring active buildings, which has been really fun. I've only recently begun taking pictures, videos, and documenting my trips. As I get all of this organized, I'll begin posting some of my new finds.

I'm not sure what I find more intriguing about my trips, the history behind the places and objects I see, or the fact that I am one of only a few privileged individuals to gain access to such places.

Anyways, I hope to contribute more to UER soon. Also I've included a picture of a sign for a fallout shelter under Johnson Hall @ WSU.

That's a pretty awesome sign. I want to explore the tunnels around my university one day also! All the best with your documentation and welcome

Hello.

My name is Alex and I'm (Obviously) a rookie to UE in the Palm Springs area of California.

I've been fascinated by old architecture my whole life.

I've always known about UE but never went because I didn't know anyone else in my group of friends who was also interested, and when I'd ask someone to explore with me they'd always think I'm crazy and I'm going to get killed.

Now that I have 3 friends that share the same love for adventure as I do I've started to actually explore.

I'm looking forward to becoming part of the community.

Hello

I have been doing urban exploring for a while but I only recently learnt what I have been doing had a name. I´m mostly interested in places around Helsinki, Finland but seeing stuff from all over the globe sounds fun as well.

Thanks.

Hey forum, names John. I'm from Harrisonburg, VA but go to school in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia (near the old Weston State Hospital).

Guess I've been interested in old abandoned stuff my entire life, but I never really had an urge to really explore anything until confronted with a building in a near by city that continues to elude my grasp. Figured I'd try posting here and network with more experienced folks.

Hey everyone! Y'all can just call me I.P. For short. I am a 33 year old male from the Washington, D.C. area. I currently work at a veterinary hospital as a technician and am also in the process of getting my state license. I just started UE'ing about 6 months ago, and I totally love the thrill of it - exploring, wondering and finding lost treasures long forgotten by the rest of the world.

Hey folks EXsoldierSNAKE here. I like to go by Snake if possible. I'm mainly in the Central Florida area while going to film school(recent graduate) and doing camera work. I think EU'ing is one of the coolest things to photograph/ get video of.

So I've been to the usual places here: Splendid China being the first, old golf courses around Disney/highway 192. Right now my small band of UE'ers, codenamed FOXHOUND(yeah I went there) are looking at checking out an old military barracks thats pretty close by. It seems impossible to get into but we're trying!
