Hello urbex'ers Just finished my first season exploring in the twin cities and am seeing if any one has advice on winter in the cities for exploring. I've kinda thought of shutting down for season.... footprints in snow are make it way to easy to make spots known. Any one up north have any crazy ideas

Hi, I'm Drew. I'm from Melbourne, Australia.
I used to explore abandoned building near where I lived as a young child and have just recently rediscovered my love for it. I've been down a drain or two, (Just last week, got caught skipping school down one 0_o )and have been scoping for locations. So far I've got some places in mind and am waiting for the weather to cooperate. XD I'll enjoy sharing with you guys.
(This is, by far the most out of character intro I have ever written, never mind...)

Hows it goin? I hate that Ive just recently found this site. I've been exploring for a while. I have memories from when I was kid, venturing into empty structures that happened to be near friend's birthday parties or near my parents' friend's house when we would visit. I did some exploring while in Georgia the last couple years but now Im back in Greensboro,NC and Im definitely up for meeting some others into UEing around here. I love all aspects of UEing and have had a blast so far having to climb elevator shafts, crossing over cave-ins on a rickety plank of wood and even having to sneak my way off a construction site filling with workers and when cops surrounded the building I was in(friend left her tripod in full view of an officer looking in from outside). Its all been a ton of fun so far and the locations have been tons of inspiration. I look forward to getting to know some of you. if you're in/around central NC or southern VA and need someone to explore with, be sure to let me know.

heres a pic myself on an old cement factory in SC

Hey there. I'm Trisha. I just moved to San Francisco a few months ago for college. I'm fairly new to the whole urban exploration thing. Honestly, I've only been to two places: an abandoned zoo and an old warehouse back home. And those were completely by accident. I've been trying to find places to explore around here without any luck. It's probably because I suck at finding things anyway. But it'd be cool to get some tips from any locals who wanna share their cool little SF secrets with me. :]

Hi, I'm new to UER but not to exploring.
I have been exploring for a couple years but nothing too serious until I just moved to the KC area. I love photography and art, and I try to take as many pics in a building as I can get.

That's it. Nice to meet you all.

Hello, brand new here on the site, am living in BC. I've done a bit of exploring both on my own and with a few friends when I was younger. I haven't done it in quite some time and am itching to get out there. I thought I'd join and learn

Cheers

Hello UER

Just got into the urban exploration thing, already scouted out some cool areas. I look forward to posting a lot of my findings here. Without compromising their location of course.

The name is AEROSPACENUCLEAR, all one word, don't split them up please. I am located in the suburbs of the Tampa Bay area. Anybody else out here?

I am, and always will be, watching, waiting, protecting.

Hello UER,

Thank you for letting me join your fine group! I've been exploring abandoned areas and all over the desert for decades; I had no idea that there were so many others who shared my "disorder" (as my wife likes to call it).

I don't know why Industrial Archaeology is so fascinating, but I feel better knowing that there are many others who share this interest.

Hopefully I'll be able to post useful & entertaining photos and trip reports in the near future. In the meantime, thanks for letting me join & enjoy all the fine photos!

long-time lurker, finally joined up. I've been to several locations local to me but always looking to find more. I shoot film (medium format) exclusively, which is one of my main reasons to do UE, to get interesting pictures.

Best,
-Ed

I am new to this site. I have been exploring for nearly a year, and have been to sites in Cleveland Ohio, Rochester New York, Louisville Kentucky, as well and small places in my hometown in north central Pa, and in a couple small towns just across the border from me in New York. I have explored alone and in small groups. I am usually quiet and reserved until I get to know someone and I have been in love with old buildings for as long as I can remember. I am always interested in expanding my exploring areas and experiences as well as meeting new people with the same interests and feel no place is too small or unimportant to have a look at.

Hey guys and gals.

Old registered user that had forgotten about this site due to the changes in life(marriage and parenthood), I lurked for a while then signed up and sadly misplaced the bookmark(but I do remember reading new posts by Ninjalicious back when) I'm glad I ran across it again.

I don;t remember if I posted a new member post when I signed up or not.

Anywho, I'm Travis(also known by my URL nickname renswic) I'm 28 years old, married for 2 years(to the day, nov 7th and have a most awesome 18 month old baby boy(he is quite the little explorer). Haven't been able to do any UEing here but that is mostly due to me being to lazy to go and find places. But I do enjoy the posts you all make about doing it. I live in Billings, MT, and I'll post about places in the right spot.

That be all for now, off to read some more

Holy crap! Registered on 11/8/2005 9:32 PM. almost 5 years to the date. Shameful I should have been posting up when I signed up, sorry all

Hey Everyone,

Eh....Well, I guess i'm an older explorer somewhat new to UE,although have done a few spots local and a few that were maybe a bit not so much. Have been around and posted a few pics on a couple other UE related websites, but just recently found this one. Compared to the experience on this board, no matter where i've been, i'm absolutely a newb.

Just hoping to learn a bit, find a few new exploring partners, take a few good pics and enjoy myself in the process.

Don't take life too seriously, nobody gets out alive anyway......

brand spanking new to the site, not to UE in general. From south suburbs of Chicago. I became interested because my dad would always take me to interesting places as a child. So far I've gotten to go to a places in Joliet, Palos, and Orland Park. I am obsessed with getting on roofs and I love stumbling around in forests. I like taking pictures AND videos of places I find. I think this is all very thrilling and I am really excited to meet people around my area and find new places. Unfortunately, I am currently stuck in Bloomington-Normal for school, but I will be spending as much time as I can during breaks UEing.

Thanks a bundle,
Paige

Hi I'm new here but not really to exploring. I used to explore ship wrecks etc. years ago (scuba diving). I haven't done any exploring in about 25 years as I was busy raising two of your members. They both have talked me into exploring and I'm having a great time! Here's a picture of my first infiltration, I think a lot of you will know where it is.

Hello, my name is Payton also known as dripik. I am new to the world of urban exploring but love a good adventure. I have been exploring all over Juneau, Ak but have really yet to get my feet wet in the lower 48. In Juneau there where the A J mines an old gold mining facility and lots of old irrigation building all over the mountain sides. The reason I am hesitant about going down south is because I am currently living in Louisiana and most of the older building are in the not so great parts of town. I have only lived down here for about 3 years but and just sick of the same old stuff to do. And that brings me back to why I am introducing myself on here. Anyways I look forward to becoming a full member and meeting all of you. I am still new to the website and everything so if anybody want to help a brother out with some kind of tips of the trade or even need to know info about the website its self I would greatly appreciate it. By the way I have picked out my first place to explore down here its a hotel in BR. Anyways again nice to meet all of you and hope to see you all exploring soon.

“We must go beyond textbooks, go out into the bypaths and untrodden depths of the wilderness and travel and explore and tell the world the glories of our journey.”
