| | | The locations are cool, and there are some fences to climb and some horror stories but other than that we don't get a whole lot of people who are clearly totally professionals at UE. I wonder what UER considers to be the coolest exploration ever, in terms of risk, skill and photographability. Is there anything that really stands out for the title of Best. Exploration. Ever.

| | | i dont think you can have a best....just b/c it is risky does not make it good and just b/c you took good pics does not make it good. Ive seen some kick butt pics of places i never want to go to. I think the only way you can judge it is in the terms of if you liked it. for me the best is an office build near by. I think it is the best b/c its modern and no one knows about it.

| | | I would venture to say that there is no such thing as a "professional" UE'er. Different people have different areas of expertise and skill. Different people have different achievements. Also, theer must be a lot of people who UE, and never access the web, or who don't post their exploits. Having said that though, the Titan base I was honoured to explore with Chainsaw Lexi and another two from Denver rocked! I never realised just how huge they were.

| | | I'm haven't looked at the entire DB yet, but but this is what I've enjoyed the most thus far. Micro's work at Lakeview in Mississauga. Av's, Roadwolf's, and Nighbird's pics from OPC in Niagara Falls. Av's, Boffo's, Mutt's (and various others) at the EDC (Toronto Power Company) in Niagara Falls Anything from the Toronto or Montreal Malt Plant. Edgar AOC. Of course, I haven't looked at everything, but that's what I've enjoyed the most this far.

| | | Gunkanjima, definitely. It's picturesque, hard to reach, dangerous... truly the holy grail of abandoned places.

That's a promise I have made myself too. There are tour boats that go around it, and you can access it by boat. I estimate you'd need to access it with a zodiac style boat which you could haul ashore. Yes, I mean up the wall and on to it. Probably best done just before sunrise after a day scouting it on tourist boats. Take a tent and camping gear, spend a few days there. From what I can tell Kuri Neko is very reluctant to give out access info for the site, which is his decision by all means. But it means you'll need to figure on how to access it and the logistics on your own. I'll probably be heading there late 2007. Anyone interested in an expo there?

i'm game. i've been trying to set up a group to go to pripyat next summer. i might as well add gunkanjima to my list too. i have been communicating with a couple of russian graffiti artists who know unprotected ways into pripyat. i plan on doing the paid tour first then returning a day or two later for the unpaid tour. as for gunkanjima, having a few experienced individuals along would be a must. any way of getting someone who has been there before to guide? if not, i'm still game. | | | That Gunkanjimas pretty neat alright, Ive even had dreams about that but closer to home this is probably THE most impressive u.e. work in Texas anyway http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=23120 Pay particular attention to coffinail's explos and galleries this was a "no bullshit, no permission, no guided tour, sidewalk sissys need not apply" masterpiece of u.e.

| | | Nuclear pop-rocks ftw! But seriously, the tour doesn't go inside Chernobyl, just around it and the town of Pripyat. And the tour guide has a geiger counter. Here's a big gallery of a trip there from the guys making the game Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl. http://www.gsc-gam...s&s=press_rel&ss=6

No doubt. IMHO, the most impressive explorations ever are the work done under MSP by Action Squad & others, and the Moscow explorations by Diggers of the Underground Planet.
