| | | Personally I hate shoulder bags because they flop around to much if I go from a slow to quick walk etc, wasnt my preference even in college.

Agreed. i am a backpack user when exploring. it just makes more sense. evenly distributed weight, less movement. its harder to get inside it after you put it on, but i dont care.

I never liked backpacks because when I walk with them, the back of my shirt ends up crawling up to my armpits. I am more sweaty with a pack on. And I ride a road bike most places, if there is enough stuff it pushes me far more over my handle bars than I am comfortable with. Besides I'm a girl. Shoulder bag is like carry a purse. Im used to it.

Havent heard anything good about Rothco, most of the shooters are wearing 5.11 or OLD Navy cargo.

| | | Does anyone use a fishing vest? I bought one like Robert Rodriguez is wearing on the cover of his book, A Rebel Without a Crew. I use it sometimes *with* my backpack when I'm out shooting pictures. When I need something, I pull it out of the backpack. If I think I'm going to need it again, I stick it in a vest pocket so it is handy. By the end of the day, my backpack is almost empty and my vest is overflowing.

I have to thank you, I was gonna go buy some run-of-the-mill cargo's.... but then I looked up rothco, and then I saw your post and looked up 5.11's. And now I have to ask myself- "Self, why would you ever buy normal clothes?". On topic, I try to avoid any bag, let alone a trendy bag made by people who most likely started stringing together hip words. Cargo's and a hoodie do me pretty well. To sprint/weave to class with a messenger bag, I just have to sling it in front and grab one of the straps short with my hand, which sorta defeats the purpose of a shoulder strap. Still though, you can do the cool thing where you throw the bag out and it orbits around you in a diagonal loop.

| | | Yeah, I have to agree with others. It would be cool if this product were designed with true urban exploration in mind, but I'm pretty sure it's got nothing to do with that. "Urban" is kind of a buzzword right now. Add the word "urban" to something and it becomes cool: "Urban Cowboy," "Urban Baroque," and "Urban Ninja," come to mind.
