| | rooftop, downtown houston < on 7/13/2006 3:15 PM >
| | | i've been eyeing this rooftop for some time, but only last night did i make a chance to accend it. i'm gradually camping deeper into the city. this is my first time on franklin st; needless to say, it was worth the effort. the climb took adaptation and reminded me of my days on the rock wall, thus elevating the overall reward once i reached the top.
i didn't plan on staying the night, but a sufficient number of pov's were covered and an inviting breeze told me to stay... so i did. besides, some construction workers have been milling about my regular haunt. it's time to discover some alternate rooftops. this one is promising.
the night passed without much of a hitch. only once i woke up because something bit me. i rolled over onto my backpack and saw it swarming with ants. shit, they are supposed to stay on the ground, not 14 stories high! the little critters wanted my food stash, so now i know to seal it up before going to sleep.
i can't wait to go back tonight. on top of a small shelter (shown in 1st picture) was one of those fuck off PA systems used for tornado warnings and air raid sirens. since childhood i've dreamt of rewiring one of those bitches... which leads me to ask: what would you play for all houston to hear if given the chance? eh, i digress...
i really enjoyed observing little tricks of light exposure- how green lights effected the over all color of a picture as opposed to red lights, traffic as opposed to none, and so on and so forth.

| | | Nice pictures, I've been in Houston (for summer break) but I haven't gone exploring yet. Maybe this is the motivation I need...
