|  | | | i was on the wrong side of town to witness the city fireworks display...
...but could see every bottle rocket for miles to the east. made me wish i had a camera with a longer light exposure setting.
did an inaugural check of this place on the 3rd without my camera. the evening passed well enuf that i decided to carry some gear the following night. got rained off the rooftop, and retreated into a loft area for sleep. it was the first time i camped the interior of an abandonment and was not nearly as comfortable as on the roof. there's hobos somewhere on the lower floors but no one bothered me. didn't stop for interior pictures on the way up or down because of limited camera memory. if i'm still caffeinated by the time i finish this post, i'll go back for more pictures this afternoon.
something not depicted in an image are the sounds. maybe you know what i'm talking about, but up there hardly anything interferes with sound's travel. just past ten, the ambulances started howling noticeably more than usual. thoughts of all the burnt fingers and blinded eyes below made me smile.
this next image is the most blatantly visible part of the climb to the top. if i'm ever to be spotted, it will be here. it's the only way to the small, uppermost rooftop of the structure and lends me adequate security from potential non-law enforcement trouble makers. all i have to do is keep half an eye on the ladder and i'll know if i have visitors.
hopefully all these pictures testify, if nothing more than partially, to the vibe in my new loft. i've never felt anything even close to the razor sharp clarity i find while up there. it's impossible to describe, so i wont try. go with me sometime and we'll order pizza.

there was a ball game last night. bad luck for accessing the building because they boarded every entrance point up tightly and more security was drifting about. i circled around the block to find an entrance just as two bums were attempting the same from the other direction. i got in just as the two were climbing thru a window. they didn't see me, but security saw them and they had to leave. i wasted no time in getting to my safe and lovely rooftop. this is the best interior shot i have right now, but pretty much sums up each floor below.
however, there is a basement level, elevator shaft, and some side rooms i am very interesting in checking out later. maybe tonight.
