Orbs = dust 90% of the time. Though that whole hidden tomb chamber thing sounds pretty neat.

yes I was being facetious about orbs

yes I know all too well they are dust

and for the record I dont believe in ghosts and paranormal stuff but I thought those that do could take prove their side of this issue with a pic of something glowing in a tomb! that would be a very cool picture, heck I might even become a believer

I'm a skeptic at best but I would love to have a picture of a tomb that was glowing with an unknown light source.

Figured as much. Just a standard reaction, being a ghost hunter and all. Makes me wanna bitchslap just about every fluffmonger out there that takes a picture where their flash reflects off of dust or bugs and are like "OMG TEH ORBZ!!" and try to pass it off as an anomoly.

I figure its pretty hard to take a picture of something that only exists in ones imagination.

Film (and charged coupled devices and cmos sensors) only react to light, real light.

I have yet to see ANY credible photos of a ghost or poltergeist or spirit or demon or specters or whathaveyou ANY where. So while I am going to be branded as a skeptic, Im not completely closed minded either.

Id love to see a ghost or an eerie light coming from a witch's tomb, or a UFO or an extra-terrestrial for that matter, I just dont believe that I ever will. Theres always been plenty of stuff that cant be explained. 1000 years ago people thought thunder was caused by Thors hammer. 500 years ago people thought if you sailed too far west you'd fall off the edge of the world.

Why are there no pictures? Because light has to reflect off something. Doesnt have to be solid either it can reflect off gas, or variances in atmospheric pressure or heat waves. Ever see a mirage? A mirage is real, it refracts light. What you see may not be there (water buildings etc) but the light waves are interacting with heat (air) which is in motion and of a different density.

So if all the high tech ghost busters are out there running around with ectoplasm scopes or gaus meters why cant they get a photo? Nothing there for the light to reflect off of is my theory.

Ok theres my dissertation now show me the pics. No photo-chopped lens flares or dust particles please.

Well, first off, I don't think this debate belongs in this forum. I imagine it can be taken to the Ghosts and Hauntings forum or the Other forum. So if you want an explaination of my particular hobby, I'll be happy to oblige in one of those two forums.

I don't understand why you're being so belligerant about this, especially since I agree that a good majority of 'ghost' pictures are bogus, or can be easily explained by mundane means. Or for that matter, any pictures of actual unexplainable phenomena, who's to say that they're ghosts, aside from them coinciding with local legend or whatnot? That's why it's considered a field of RESEARCH. There's plenty of theories, but one can't just show a pic and say "Look, this is a bona-fide ghost", but rather "This picture shows something weird and Kodak labs is stumped on what this can possibly be. It *might* be a ghost, considering people are experiancing weird goings-on in this place and we can't find any natural means to explain it."
