| | | Here are a few photos I'd like critiques on. I'm a big boy and can take the harsh critiques - so give 'em up, since they'll help me improve. Please, no location information or any of that nonsense. 1.

| | | First of Id like to say that there all of a reasonably high standard so any critique I'm offering is generally nitpicking stuff. Some Intal thoughts: 1) Nice shot, angle works well could possibly be improved if the shot was taken from a lower point to include the bottom of the window frame on the left and less space at the top. 2) Well composed and exposed but im not all that thrilled by the subject. 3) Love the colours and tones on this one. Thought of rotating it 90 degrees? It might be interesting to see what its like at a different orientation. 4) The reflection is great in this photo, the dead space to the right is a little distracting... Though it looks like it would be reasonably hard to crop out. 5) Overexposed? possibly my monitor. Its some manky pipes with asbestos lagging - dosnt really do much for me. 6) Again possibly the exposure is a little to long. but generally it feels average as if it coul have been taken by anyone with a point and shoot. 7) Theres something cool about the subtle reflection of the photographer in this one. Intentional? may be improved by getting both pipes perfectly central. 8) Its a very overdone shot, But its well executed 9) Another strong image, Best of the closeup shots. Colours, DOF and composition all work well here. 10) Whats the point of focus in this photo? the bottom of the door? the windows? the wall behind? That said it does set the mood rather nicely. To me I looks like theres room for improvement on this one but I would struggle to suggest what could be done. Generally as a set of photos I dont think they work together all that well, Its difficult to get a sense of uniformity across all the shots. Perhaps a breakdown to closeups / wider angle shots might help to alleviate this? It would certainly give a more considered set of photos overall. Overall 1, 3, 4 and 9 stood out the most.

| | | I love the placement of the knob that is out of focus in #2 next to the in focus pipe, it really draws your eye, at least it did for me.

I like them all a lot. i'm going to go look through your posts and find more.

| | | I always really like your photos. These textures are incredible, mostly because of your shadows and colors. I want to reach out and touch some of these, they look so real. Great shots.

| | | you have an awesome eye for color and texture. i think that your shots of larger areas are stronger than the shots you take when you close in on the subject, with the exception being #3 - which is just awesome. the scenes with the hallways/windows/doorways/rooms have a lot more visual impact than say... your photos of the pipes. and that's actually unusual for me to say because i tend to prefer "the details" in a scene. i'm envious - i have a hard time backing away and getting the whole image to look the way i want it to, but you're great at it. nice selection of photos.

| | | That's my favorite for primes, with the zooms I opt for a little shallower DoF.
