Now ME, on the other hand.....or EITHER hand, actually...,I can go through a bottle of lotion in a weekend. Wanna go camping?
I'm a blatant waste of time and resources. |

Yeah, We're building a great rep for Texas. A thread starts with "Anybody seen this old building..." and before you know it, we got us a full blown, anything goes and your mamma ain't safe home style bitch fest. God love us! [last edit 6/16/2006 7:03 PM by Avatar-X - edited 2 times]

civil defense? military? any guesses?

Ok 2x ... just recently found this bunker or it's location anyway, was thinking of making a run out to it next weekend. Then I read one of your writeups on it and was wondering if you could drop me a note here or PM on if it is really watched, parking location etc... On a side note, Was talking to my day about this place and he told me a funny story of having a warhead fall off a truck as it was being transported between the bunkers and it's useful location if ya get my drift. Right off in the middle of the highway, fortunately it wasnt armed yet so were all still here! He has some great stories about out there! From what he told me there is another set of these about 20 miles to the north. I know where but dont think you could get access as the areas occupied now by a preacher with full time staff on site.

Actually not that uncommon, several of the old Missile complexes are owned by churches. If I remember right the one in Alvarado is owned by a church as an example. Nothing a church needs like a nuclear storage facility and missile silo to protect them from the evils of the world!
