| | | It's all a big myth. The supercollider doesn't really exist.
I figured out what's wrong with life: It's other people. |

Yes, sorry your right, not all of us can fit in with your Captain America superhereos exploring and research group. Please forgive our shortcomings for having other obligations and interest in life beyond this recreational hobby. We can't all be "professional explorers" like yourself. How much does that pay by the way?

I hate to sound like everyone else but, I think that everyone has been kind enough to tell you everything we know. Even, and perhaps especially 2X. You can only ask a question, and rephrase, and reask it again so many times. I don't know if you guys did this before you started this thread, but there have been many threads about it the past. To that end; DID YOU THINK TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON? This may in part, be responsible for any hostility you have encountered. Naturally, there is not going to be a whole lot of information on the super-collider out there. I can not imagine that the government wants something they spent so much money on, regardless of it being in vain or not, to be so accessable. A lot of people have put a considerable sum of time, energy and effort into researching the supercollider (Again, perhaps 2X more than anyone). I personally find it very rude that you guys seem to not appreciate this fact. Honestly, I do not feel like anyone, is obligated to tell anyone on this site, anything they know. You can accuse some of us of being arrogant elitists pricks, and maybe we are (I am unrepentant one, no less) but if so, I think it is to protect the hobby that we Love from fools and dolts who could and/or would ruin in any number of ways. This includes freeloading. Anyways, what I am getting at is that I think a lot of us are at the end of our ropes. Be it our patience, or our knowledge about the super-collider. Go out and do some more of your own research. Go exploring till you find out what you want to know. Of course, you may well find out that the tunnels really are flooded, or whatever, and that you may never get to find out what you want to know. Such is Life. If all of this sounds like too much work to do, then please, don't try and get us to do your dirty work for you. We don't cater to armchair explorers. Now I realize I don't speak for everyone, so maybe you should just replace all the "we"s with "I"s. And I am probably not going to be apologetic if you think I am an ass, of if I offended you, but I am tired of this thread, and all everyone's bullshit. So there.
P.S. One more thing, if you can't spell... Use the spell-checker... [last edit 6/17/2006 12:32 AM by Mellon_Collie - edited 1 times]

| | | OK you win. Take FM 1389 South West out of Waxahachie for five miles or so past the tracks. Look to your left for an old barn with a cow next to it. Just behind the cow, there's a hatch with an "X" on it above the words "Here 'tis". The hatch lock is just for show. Any key will open it. Go down the ladder (10 rungs) and the light switch is on the left. Pick any ov the available golf carts and head down the ramp into the tunnel. Be sure to plug the golf cart back in, turn off the light and lock up on the way out.
Remember when your kids were about 4 and , after every answer you given they'd say "Why?"? This is a lot like that. We're trying to help but we can only do so much. "Anything worthwhile is worth working for..." Some dead guy said that. "But why should I have to work for it if you already have it? Just give it to me..." Lots of people say that.
I'm a blatant waste of time and resources. |

Okay, I'll humour myself: What if you found the pumps Okay, cool, you found the pumps or whatever. Now what? Don't tell me you would just "turn them on". Personally, I am not so sure these pumps which you seek exist. If you did turn them on, where would all that water go? If the tunnels are indeed flooded, that is a lot of water to move... The only pumps I can find out that were in the SSC were exotic laser pumps and what have you. If actual water pumps did exist, I would not be surprised if they were underground, also flooded.
Oh, I also read in the wikipedia that the "cleanup" cost $4 billion. [last edit 6/17/2006 2:38 AM by Mellon_Collie - edited 1 times]

| | | Wow, and I thought that melancholy had finally coherently said what I had been trying to. I... I just have to "LOL"... LOL! I want to say more but he said it so well. Good luck with finding what you're looking for. I'm sure if we find any more relevant information we might consider posting it here but somehow I don't think it's likely.

melancholy is not only eloquent but an example of a new guy that could cut it, he was totally green when he logged in here but learned how to explore pretty much on his own without help from anyone and now he runs with the big dogs like the Rev and Noah. Top notch. (and he didnt learn that from resource math class most of these noobs would shit themselves if they actually knew just a few of the places you guys have been

See, now that wasnt so bad now was it. Im glad we got away from the insults, bitching, and b.s. and back to discussion about an interesting topic. If what you read about the cleanup is true that would be really silly. They could have just completed the project for that much. What did you use on the search in wikipedia to find that bit of info? By the way, the only reason gasx hates me is because I finally got tired of being nice and putting up with his crap. So I had to put him in his place. I know I succeeded in this because of his responses and you all jumping in to help him out. Gasx got himself into this mess because he doesnt know how to treat someone with decency and respect (unless it is a girl or someone in his inner circle). It was a nice gesture of you to stick up for him, but try letting him fight his own battles there chief. Especially if he starts them! Oh and to Rev, you all know what it is I am trying to do. I have made that perfectly clear from the beginning (as you all like to harp on "go back and read up"). I didnt come here to make enemies or piss anyone off. I just wanted to see some of the cool recent pictures of the SSC. You know, kind of like the ones on your SUV website. You were nice enough to make those publicly available. That leads me to believe there was a time no too long ago when you didnt get caught up in the politics and paranoia about people seeing the stuff, unlike what goes on in this forum. You were very willing to share your fascinations and experiences with the world. It was so simple. I was able to look at them and you never even knew I existed. Thank you! It could have been that way here as well. But no, here I have to go through all of this crap just to see the pictures. Admittedly, I am not an explorer right now. I may get out there eventually, I dont know. But once again, the ONLY legitimate issue I have heard about for not allowing access to the pictures on this website is concern about cops, vandals, and taggers who mess up the sites or cause them to get locked down tight. I understand such concerns. But, anything else, such as all this whining about finding stuff on your own and freeloading, is just another excuse for infinite politics, paranoia, and selfishness.
