Section 8 housing to be demolished

Northwest Terrace Apartment Complex @ Plano Rd and Northwest Hwy 472 units of low/no income apartments are coming down to make room for yuppie townhomes displacing a little over 600 tenants including some 57 Hurricane Katrina refugees. "These apartments have been little more than slums for the last 30yrs and now its time for a change" said one neighborhood association spokesperson.

The residents feel like theyve been treated unfairly
http://rss.topix.n.../T2NE1VH5I8RL6PPBP why its in a Brownsville forum I dont know???

Anyway, right now the buildings are only about half boarded up but about 90% vacant. If you go at night use appropriate caution.

thats a fairly good analogy, Eastgate was newer but more torn up and deteriorated NW Terrace is a lot older but better built and better kept

from what I heard the Katrina refugees caused most of the tagging and destruction at NWT
