You are correct, it was a locker/laundry room. You can't tell, but the showers were behind me. The bags I looked in were empty and main items in the baskets were those wooden slippers seen in #6, razors, Dove, Pert, masks, gloves, clothes, watches, hard hats...basically the stuff that the fellows who worked on the coke ovens would need to work and then clean themselves. As you can see, the bags would be zipped up to the second level where I believe laundry was performed. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to fully explore this building, so I can't tell you much more than that.

I think those are actually just hanging lockers. They're raised into the ceiling to save space, no laundry service on-site. Decent shots you have there, #3 is the one that really jumps out at me.

It didn't look like there was much room upstairs for anything to really go on, but someone informed me there was laundry being done up there. I believe what I am told, most recently, so now I believe you.
