| | | Does anyone know if there are any regular get togethers in the houston, or austin areas. I'm new to the area and new to site and I'm interested in a chance to get to know some people. Otherwise I have to drive all the way to Dallas where I know there is a meeting, but that's a bit far to go to hang out.

I've noticed that. I wonder why? ;)

| | | No regular meetings in Austin but I live here and explore occasionally. The thing is that I've seen just about all there is to see in Austin (although I have been pleasantly surprised several times before) so I usually (like this weekend) travel to other cities like San Antonio, Dallas and Houston to explore. The only city that has regular meetups is Dallas though. If you wanted to meet up with me in San Antonio or Austin, I would probably be game.

I could tell you by PM if you really want to know but posting it here will only set off the idiots and generate more threats from the e-thugs.

| | | I just moved to Austin recently and am looking for people to explore with as well... I'm sure they're hiding somewhere. How many of us are there?

| | | There are only about 3 of us here in Austin that I know that explore fairly regularly. Like I said before we usually find ourselves going to other cities but if I had some prodding I would love to explore the local stuff again. I guess I just feel like it's right here close by so I don't feel like I have to explore it right away. Unfortunately this way of thinking has leaded me to waiting too long and some things have disappeared. Still, there is some good stuff around here and especially in San Antonio, which is only about an hour away. Where did you move here from? Did you do any exploring there? Welcome.

| | | Moved here from Northern CA... (actually emailed you elsewhere - small community, yes?) I grew up in Monterey and spent most of my free time past age 8 crawling around Fort Ord. Also, brief obsession with getting onto the roofs of tall buildings in SF, and then having a picnic on top (parkour enthusiast friends, heh) I am also a ridiculously big fan of ghost towns, and have seen many in Mojave, Bay Area, and Nevada. Y'know.

| | | i'm actually moving back to austin on July 15th and would LOVE to get an austin meetup going if anyone was interested. i've been out in kyle (i know it's not that far) for a while so most of my exploring has been rural but with the summer heat the snakes are starting to even scare me out of that....and those creepy wolf spider hybrids out here too. anyway....if anyone is up for a day of REALLY awesome exploration i have a location in mind but it would require more than two people to explore....just send me a PM or an e-mail.
