| | | I see the terms "urban exploration" and "infiltration" as being two big circles that have a great deal of overlap. There are a few urban exploration activities that I wouldn't describe as infiltration (tours with permission and the like), and there are a few infiltrational activities that I wouldn't describe as urban exploration (sneaking into pools and concerts, for example). But personally I consider things like tunnel running or sneaking into abandoned buildings to be both infiltration and urban exploration. Okay, I probably spent too long making this, but here's a diagram to clarify what I mean: Ninj http://www.infiltration.org [last edit 10/27/2003 8:38 PM by Ninjalicious - edited 1 times]

| | | Very nice venn diagram Ninj. I think that might be as close as anyone gets to defining UE, just becouse of views of what is what are very subjective. I like the pretty colors.

| | | Well, Thank you for the different explanations. The difference is more clear now. I would say in my state of mind, Urban (abandoned) exploration means more to me than Infiltration (not necessarily abandoned places). Don't get me wrong, Infiltration is interesting too. I may be an amateur at this right now, but abandonment holds a history that could disappear if the city or state decides its a worthless eyesore. Thats all for now. *Ivy*

| | | Posted by Chud Wraithing (exploring abandoned places with security while pretending to be ninjas and snapping blurry pics but making up for it with interesting write-ups and a jovial front-man) (not to be confused with jestering, which is using twine and jolt's left tabi to make a hang glider and getting into an aforementioned "wraithy" site)[/pre]

| | | What's skunneling again? So many terms... My interpretation is more of a graph than a venn diagram. I'll try to hash something out.

Tunnel skateboarding, or "full pipe" skateboarding. I think it was pretty popular in california during the more active skating days. I don't actually skate, but some of my friends in high school did and wanted me to find a nice smooth concrete drain for them (unfortunately there were none large enough in that town).
