Some of these are really cool - I like #6 especially. I'm no expert either, so you can disregard my suggestions. But I think some of your photos would be even better if you cropped them a bit, or framed the shot a little differently. For example, you've lined up an interesting shot with #11, but maybe zooming in on the middle section would be more interesting. In my opinion, the stuff to either side distracts the eye from the cool line of sight in the middle. I tinkered with that one in photoshop a bit, to show you what I mean:

Again, feel free to disagree, or to say that my version sucks. There's no right or wrong way to do it, it's just a matter of what you as the photographer are trying to achieve.

Oh I understand. I couldn't decide whether or not to crop it, but I kinda like it the way it is, 'cause it makes me think of it sorta weird (gonna be hard to explain, but this is how it feels in my head).

It's kinda like there's average stuff going around, la la la, life is good. Then you look in the center and it slowly pulls you in, like aliens sucking you up to their spaceship to suck your brains out through your nose. Once you look in, you forget about the other stuff around.

Anyways, now I feel like a complete idiot.

Well no reason to feel like an idiot! I guess I don't get the "aliens sucking you up to their spaceship to suck your brains out through your nose" feeling from the uncropped version (or the cropped version either). lol. But I can see reasons why you wouldn't want to crop it too. Composing the shot differently works better for me, but that's just my opinion, and I'm no expert.

4 is pretty neat, as is 5. I like the fisheyes, though the composition seems to be lacking a bit. The other ones just kind of bore me. They look like my shots, and I shoot boring stuff.

the fisheyes are fantastic. good choices of scenery for those shots.

i think #1 had a lot of potential. if you could have moved more to the left or the right, so that better parts of the building were showing you would have had a better picture. the peeking through the branches idea was a great move but what was behind it was not as interesting. looking at the pic makes me want to move around and peek around the branches to get to the "good stuff"

this suggestion would improve #'s 7 and 11 as well. sometimes you have no chose because of the confine of where you are shooting from, or the distance, or your lens. if you can move the camera or yourself, it would improve the shots.

#9 should not have been included, there isn't much to see in the photo.

i really like the buildings in #11. the fire damage, streak and rust looks nice.

my favorite is the fisheye of the staircase. maybe you could make that into a logo or something for your site. it's awesome. experiment more with fisheye. i think you have a natural eye for that type of shot.

the color on your images look nice. which camera did you use for this series?

cheers.

Lol, that picture was taken from here...

...up top, so there really wasn't too much room to move around and arrange the shot, especially 'cause I was questioning it's sturdiness.

my favorite is the fisheye of the staircase.

Is that #4 or #5? I didn't think I used a fisheye on either of 'em, but thanks for the nice comments.

which camera did you use for this series?

A digital rebel xt. Just got it a week or two ago.

They were all taken in Ohio. 1-9 were at the Roseville Prison, and 10 and 11's exact location is to remain confidential.

What exactly am I seeing in #8. Is it an old track? Does it lead into the grounds?

Yeah, it's old tracks. It doesn't lead to the ground though, it's right next to it.
