Daniels Petrolium and Tx. rock gym (houston)

Just got back from some UE at the daniels petrolium offices they're tearing down. While there, we saw lights in the complex that tx. rock gym was in (next door). We decided it was other UERs due to the way that their lights were dimmed. We cautiously made our way over, and flashed them with our light. They didn't run, and came to the loading bay where I was greeted by some spanish. My spanish isn't very good but thankfully we had a native speaker with us. Turned out these guys were scavenging for parts and not UEing, so we left them and went back to explore a little more.

Synopsis: Both places were obviously about to be demolished. They were also heavily tagged and had broken glass all about. Not a great UE, but not that bad either. My friend's camera ran out of batteries, so no pics. The place is easy to gain access to if anyone is interested, and it's located on near bunker hill at I-10 near the beltway.

Oh, by the way: the Houston DB has only one location in it. I could really make use of a full membership by posting some more...

Cool. Are they tearing down the gym there too? I would suppose so, but I hadn't heard anything.

Yeah, the gym looks like it's going to be torn down.

Hi. I visited the offices very early this morning and got a few shots. Nothing that exciting; I can imagine how much more exciting it would have been if the buildings behind the offices were still there. All that's left of the complex is a vast stretch of concrete and scraps. I could see that several entrances of the rock gym building next door were wide open, a good sign of upcoming demolition.

Access was very easy. Thanks for the info wr0x2.

By the way, I noticed that demolition of the brown brick buildings east of Bingle near the new Home Depot has begun. I knew that the old Federal Credit Union building was going, but not those connected ones. Would have been cool to check out.

Update: July 26, 2006

Just to let the group know: As of today, the last building at this site (where I got the rooftop shot) is in the process of being torn down.

I wish I had gotten to Daniels before but at least I saw the office building. Tx rock Gym was pretty interesting too.
