Should I go out and spend 18 dollars for a small inflatable raft or should I just use the inflatable pool lounger thing I already have?

My cheap-ass raft came with oars. Depending on the location, that alone could be well worth the money.

It's going to depend on what you're using it for. Some inflatable rafts are abit more durable than your average pool lounger, or have multiple tubes to prevent sinking. If you're going somewhere that you'd rather not touch the "water", invest in a nice inflatable that's up to the task.

You can get a toy inflatable raft for around $10 at larger outdoor/megastores, although you'll probably have to buy paddles separately. The "Explorer 100" (props!) theoretically supports 120lbs, but they actually can take a lot more. Two-person rafts are a little more expensive and durable, although once they rip you can't really do much. Patch kits at best just give you a slow leak.

Either one will pop. I just can't get the mileage I used to out of a raft anymore. Damn pokey thinks in drains.

I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner!
Any problem can be licked with a case of beer and a few sticks of dynamite.

I really prefer rigid boats (canoes/kayaks) for drains, due to the pokey things and rough bottoms. I'm hoping to get an old beater canoe and hide it somewhere convenient, since there are a lot of boat-only drains and other sites around here. Unfortunately no one wants to sell me a beat up and leaky canoe to fix!

Ironically I have literally stacks of small row/sail/pole boats at home, but it's hard to get them from Alaska to Murderapolis
