Wow, I'm glad we wasted so much time talking about / planning a government! That was an awesome use of resource.

What resource exactly was wasted? Other than a few calories of energy spent typing?

tons of threads & ideas on what could be the shape of the new "trustee" board and the whole nomination process of people to organize election. prolly about 20 pages long if you put all of them together.

Plus, lots of Chainsaw energy and time. All wasted.

That's a resource (unless you don't prize your own intelligence or time as a resource, in which case, I'm not surprised) ? A lot of people spent a lot of time thinking about this and trying to organise something.

Personally, I spent about 30 minutes of my time and about ten of my brain cells, but others not so; Chainsaw being a good example of someone who spent a lot of time and patience trying to get it all together, Maze another.

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

Yes, Chainsaw, and other people, put in a lot of time and energy. But I would not call it a "waste" -- it paved the way for future ideas of that nature, and also helps to outline where people think the problems are and how they might best be dealt with.

I've posted the final updated vote results in the first post, with full percentages and analysis.

I guess the mods know what to work on for UER, don't they!

Jester was right, by the way, Av. You're being as intentionally pigheaded as you always have in the past with regard to the LDB. Over 50% of the members of UER who voted wanted it changed in some way, whether it be complete deletion or minor tweaks. Speaking as one of the people voting for deletion, I would be in favor of tweaks if deletion is not an option. I bet most of the people voting for deletion felt the same way.

Over 50% of people feel that there is a problem with the LDB.
If you had wanted to divvy up the votes more you could, perhaps, have made it
1) The LDB is perfect as it is.
2) The LDB is nearly pefect, but I'd like minor changes.
3) The LDB needs some changes.
4) The LDB needs major changes.
5) The LDB needs more major changes.
6) Delete the LDB.

That way you could divvy up the people wanting changes even more and make sure that none of the change-wanting votes would have any chance whatsoever of seeming to be a major percentage of the UER populace!

Jesus man! AV gets sick of the shit on HIS site, decides to step down and let it be run by members, and he is still taking shit! There is no way everyone can be happy with this. You can't find ten people off the street who will agree on the color of an orange, much less this. Damn dude, let it be.

Peace!

The moderators will be taking the poll into consideration for any future decisions regarding the LDB and everything else on the site. Since this already has the trappings of a flame war waiting to happen, I'm going to lock it.
