Built in 1882 this historic pumping station and filtration plant is a marvel of the industrial age. She's big. She's bad. She's Beautiful. Have a look for yourselves.

Sweet shots!! I love the warm oranges and yellows, and that it's abandoned but not rotten or vandalized. The perspective on first one is unique and somehow makes the door appear like Oompahloompah's worked here. The 'Nerve Centre' picture reminds me of a scene in 'The Wall' by Pink Floyd, great depth and lighting on that one.

Thanks for sharing an awesome location!

Some absolutely beautiful pictures there. Is that sunlight coming in through those windows in number 2 (my favorite shot by the way).

Again, nice work!

Please tell me that they're not going to tear that down! It must be heritage listed? The generator shot is superb!

Thanks for the comments.
It is heritage listed, as a matter of fact they are trying to turn it into a science and technology museum, though there are two divergent plans on how it will work. One is to save everything as is, fix the minor damage to the roof and to add some method of flood control. The other is to demolish the pump house, leave old No. 7 out exposed to the elements as a centerpiece to "a roman style ruins garden".

It is mostly boarded up except for the arched yellow stain glass windows that throw the crazy yellow light through the entire space.

ok, i'm one of those people that are all for the "ruins", but that's if they occur naturally. let nature ravage a site and celebrate the remains as what they were, what they are, and how they got that way.

but to purposefully CREATE a ruin, because it might LOOK nicer? insane.
