since you say you are new and you say you want advice,

here it is:

you just posted the name and location of someplace you plan to trespass on in a public bulletin board type forum

police, fire, security, bldg mgmt, vandals, nosey neighbors and tattle tales etc read these forums

I could tell you how and where to go but that wouldnt be exploring would it

no thats not very helpful I know

yes I am considered an asshole for saying stuff like that

and no I dont really care

its for your own good and I only offer this advice since you say youre new and want advice

good luck

Here's MY advice:
As with any new hobby, start small and don't bite off more than you can chew. Become confident (not cocky) on small, easy targets and then as you hone your skills, move to larger, more difficult places. don't ask for info about specific sites since most people believe that you are trying to reap the benefits of someone elses work rather than scouting on your own. Look around for the obvious that most people disregard.Boarded and missing windows, graffiti, etc. Take a buddy along and, as Nike so aptly put it, "Just do it..."
Good luck and welcome to your new addiction.

I'm a blatant waste of time and resources.

I totally agree with Barry and 2X. Especially this part. The more I do this (I've been doing it for years now) the more experience I gain, and you'd think, the more comfortable I am with it. The fact is, the more years I do this, the closer I get to the point of NEVER going alone. I live in a rural area and still do most of the exploring here alone or with my young son. But in most cases any more it's just not that safe to be by yourself. Too much mischief that you can run up on. Not to mention it's always best if someone is around to help in case you get hurt.

thanks.....i've got a two people to come with me. but i think you may be right about bitting off more than i can chew. the school has 40+ buildings. so i may just see what else i can find that is smaller to start with. it's just hard in austin since everything is getting torn down so quickly. and getting built over in the same week (at least it feels that way).

Austin sucks too because yall have all those homeless philosophy graduates, and everyone one knows...once the homeless philosophy grads move into town....forget about UE, everything goes on lockdown!

I'm drunk.

that's also partly true....all the "artists" decide to move into the rundown parts of town because it's hip then all the yuppies want to live in the artsy areas and next thing you know there are no more cool old buildings...just $500k lofts. pretty much nothing is left of the warehouse district and it's just tough in general. sorry the whole gentrification of austin really bothers me.

All true... Especially Noah being drunk. :p

Oh, and please be courteous and respect other Austin explorers such as myself as well as the location its self by NOT DAMAGING PROPERTY. Of course some less civilized people will break windows and such to get into abandoned places but we here do no condone such things. If you find a window or door that is already open it is fair game but otherwise use judgement.

The reason I'm telling you this is because it's likely that for the school you might get there and find that every door has been locked and every window has been boarded up and it's because some people like to break things. Also just be aware that I've seen patrols in this area before.

Also, I'm in agreement about things not staying in an unused state for very long in Austin. San Antonio on the other hand likes to leave things to rot.

I usually go out by myself, but that's because there are not a lot of people in my area who share my interests. Most of the stuff I explore is pretty tame, if I don't feel comfortable going, I'll refer to one of the crazier guys in our group. I think 2X, Barry and Allva would explore a burning building if given the chance. 2X and Allva would drive 500 miles in a day to do it, as well...
