I just read that on the web. Here is an MSNBC link to the story. I'm with you. please tell me this is NOT UE related. If it is, this is EXACTLY what people are always talking about and why so many of us are reluctant to give detailed information. Whether this is UE related or not, everyone needs to take note because it just as easily could be. I'm glad to hear you say that, and that's where I was hoping this thread would end. Being in the Tutorial section, I think this thread is a good example of the pro's and con's on choosing where to explore. Places that have heightened security issues since 9/11, such as water plants both waste water and public water which both end up filtering back into the ground or the public, are places that now raise issues of health concerns to the entire public. In my opinion, even though I live in a somewhat rural area and I'm limited on places to explore, I can still always find a place with less risk to me than a place like this. Even if you mean no harm, and I don't think you do, convincing the authorities of that fact can create more problems for you and your parents (like someone has already said) than it's ever worth. In fact, any place that is active, building or otherwise, really requires a more careful look to determine whether it's worth the risk or not. In most cases, it's probably not. From my point of view, I think you made a very wise choice. Welcome to the world of UE.

| | | Me and blueshiva are regular explorers of active waste water treatment plants. Thesedays, all but the biggest of plants are entirely run by computers. Workers only go in there to monitor equipment, and perform maintenance checks (not very often). We have only ever been remotely close to being caught once and even then, it was pure bad luck that the workers arrived while we were in there. Generally, unless the place is huge, there will be no security at all. If anyone does turn up, just hide and wait for them to leave. Its a sewage treatment works. None wants to go in there. Water works that provide drinking water however aren't a good idea at all, as pointed out by previous posts.
