This is my first attempt at letting people actually critique my shots...

Please be nice.

It's a tragedy.
It's exactly like a greek tragedy.

I think they're in order from strongest to weakest. Number one has great composition, great color, might be out of focus (too small to tell). The next one has good composition, good formal qualities. Number 3 is still formal, but somewhat boring. And although I see what you were going for in number 4, it doesn't hold my interest for too long. Number 1 is definitely my favorite.

Today is your way out...

I think the opposite. Number 1 doesn't really seem to have a good grasp on the subject or the textures. The colours are good though.

In the second one it's not entirely clear why we're looking at that.

I enjoy pictures like the third one just because they make me feel like I'm there. The composition of the picture is good, even if there's nothing there.

Lasthourstand and I agree on the fourth one.

The third is actually my favourite, I can't really explain it, I just really like it. Though part of me wonders what it would've looked like a little lower so you could see the bottom of the rail, and just cut out the top row of the bricks. But I really like it.

The fourth, I guess I don't see what the others do, I just can't really tell what it's going for - personally I would've ended up doing a very low shot from ground-level just to follow the perspective of the brick path until it disappears...but then I'm far from good or creative, I only ever take two types of shots, those and long-exposure night shots...and they both suck ;)

The more I look at my shots myself the more I hate 2 and 4. just... hate them.

But 3. I have no idea why 3 seems so cool to me but I just love it.

and 1 would be better I think if hadn't cut the top off the handle.

Thanks for the advice.

3 has potential. It would be a good place to get someone to pose, or a great place to see a cat.
