I'm entering a photo contest and I have it narrowed down to these four. I'd like to know which is better of the two photos. sepia/selenium for one or sepia/color for the other.

The first shot has an unbelievable amount of sensor/lens dirt in it. I would go ahead and clone that out if you expect to win a contest with these.

I like the second one but if it was in b&w that would look great! I love how you can see the reflection in the water, amazing! the angle and the composition is very nice.

#3 all the way, although it actually looks not bad in sepia too.

And whether that's lens/sensor dust or snow (which I doubt), it looks like dust, and should be gotten rid of.

yep.

I agree. People are very hesitant to remove stuff that was "real" from photographs, but "real" or not, sometimes stuff interferes with the photograph. Even if it were more obvious that that was snow I would clone it out because it just doesn't work with the shot at all. If I thought it was dust, so will the judges. What is was or wasn't doesn't matter to someone who is seeing the shot completely out of context.

I think I like #4 the best of the lot, though I wish it was shot from a bit farther back to get more of the reflection. I think zooming in on the upper part of the roof would also make a great photograph.

I like #3. The sepia tones really subdue a lot of the depth and shadow detail.
