Need some pointers for Digital B&W. My subjects seem to get lost in the noise.

Hey, careful, man, there's a beverage here!

That is awesome, I think it looks great. I think the only thing is there may be a lot of the same contrat lying around your image, the best thing aboot B+W is when you can get your subject to really pop out at ya.

When you are shooting B+W it is contrasting levels of brightness that you should be looking for. To save that picture you might be able to play around in photoshop and fuzz/feather the background out of 'focus' so the wheel stands out a bit more. Keep playing.

Looks good, could use a little tweaking nothing major. If you are using photoshop and starting from a color image give this a read.

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.

It's a start. Doesn't really catch my eye because of the odd angle and the centered focal point.
