| | | | been closed for about 4-5 years the object of a disagreement between lester pearson and english montreal boards, emsb aquired all the old PSBGM special projects like john grant but this is in LBPSB territory. electricity has been cut but there is a 200 amp temp service in the place for basic lighting and alarms

Lol I know bout the alarms part  i broke the ue code and smashed my way in lol.. and i set off the alarms can you explan what u said in a more simpler way? like im very stupid..
Oh and do u live in lachine? Cause if you do we can go Ueing Togerther

Back in the days, when I was young. The school world was divided in 2 : CECM and PSBGM. I attended both systems, french and english.
While CECM tend to have standards school, with only a very few exceptions (DEFI program at Sophie-Barat for "gifted" kids, Fernand-Séguin with a science-concentration, Pierre Laporte for Ballet and some others), PSBGM tried to specialized its schools. F.A.C.E., which is in a very old building that housed Mtl first High School is focused on arts (Fine Arts Core Education - FACE), many other schools were either focused on music or sports.
From my old memories of attending FACE and performing in concerts in other schools, I think I can remember John Grant being a school with a strong music program...
Everyone was happy until Qc government decided to "deconfessionalize" the schools and reorganize the system based on languages, which basically screwed the whole system of the PSBGM up. CECM liked the FACE concept (with a zero level of drop-out and great students averages...) and since more francophones than anglos were attending FACE, they got the school (which sucks). And that was the case for some of the best schools of the PSBGM.
Because of that, the "new" PSBGM had to reorganize, close some schools and do other stuff while they still have a growing number of students. At the same time the "new" CECM have declining number of students in schools they don't maintain well... Bad, bad, bad.

| | | | well actually i did it by mistake! lol i just took a snow ball nd shot it at the window then it cracked and i just pushed the glass for fun... lol i didnt really '' break in and i do not vandalize! ( like spryapaint,etc,etc.) now anyways thanks for the amazing info on that school. lol ive benn searching a long time for info, but i didnt even think of comming here anyways i have to go now

yeah, and john grant strangely is the object of a fight between 2 english schoolboards, john grant had an alternative high school program for people that were at high risk of dropout. the building it is in is the former lachine high building (they moved on to the "new" at the time present lakeside academy building and john grant was born) john grant at one point even operated a mikes franchise. the building to this day is owned by the EMSB but it is in LPSB territory causing some arguements, so it sits
