Holds breath, and posts first pic here

I normally dont take very good photos partially because Im not that great and partially because I use a digital with pretty much no options these days. Despite all of that, I really like the way this one came out. I love old radiators!

Heya. Nice photo!

My only suggestion is try to isolate the subject more in this case. The coke can on the right, and the line (must be a door or window) is distracting.

In some cases, other elements of photos help layer the composition, but in this case, they detract from the centerpiece: The obviously uber-cool embossing on this iron radiator.

Goooooo Radiators!

(definitely much better than stucco).

I'm with tunnelbug. Get more of the radiator and less of the background, and you're golden. Nice subject!

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

Thanks, if I remember correctly I wanted to scoot over a little farther but there were some stuffed animals on the ground. I do appreciate the comments.
Oh and Tunnelbug, look here http://www.uer.ca/...urrpage=1&pp#post6
It almost looks like you took that pic in my hallway!

Same thing you said to me...who am I to reply at this point?
But I do love it. I absolutely love the scrollwork on that thing!

Good Job!

I would just crop out the can. Cool shot, not the MOST interesting shot I've ever seen, but a great start!

I love the shot. I think if you'd put the scroll work in the top right corner, and had more of the shadow, that would have been wicked cool. But I really dig it.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

I think it's great. Though I'd crop it a little and remove the pop can.

Yay for you posting!!

Can't wait to see more!

Sorry.. Not impressed with the composition, though I do like old radiators. The image is also a bit soft and could use some sharpening.

I too have a crappy digital camera and wouldn't mind some feedback on a few radiator pictures.

1 - The top part is distracting. Also, I would try black and white since the subject is so graphic.

2 - I like this one, but I would have pulled that stupid pink thing out of there. I would DEFINITELY try this in B&W because it would probably make that pink thing much less distracting and the subject is, again, really graphic and has a lot of abstract shapes in it.

Yeah... Pink is definitely not a cool color to highlight in urbex photography

Nothing against pink, urbex just isn't its forte.

Actually, I think the unexpectedness of pink in an abandoned environment would be great. But a pink ribbon draped haphazardly over a bunch of radiators all smashed together is, uh... not so much.

It's too busy. Maybe a macro picture with less a harsh depth of field would treat the pink better.

yes. alas, sometimes I'm sarcastic and it's not quite sarcastic enough to be funny. Then I go in a corner and cry.

I do believe pink is a good color, but it's more difficult to find the right composition in Urbex photography (or color in general for that matter). I've utilized it many times.

lol, about the pink ribbon, I would slap it into photoshop and try to make the pic black and white with it still pink, might look cool.

As for the cropped version, I would try to change your perspective/composition a little, it would spice up the shot
