Ok I only actually used my camera at the first location of the meet, Lakeview was too heat to bring cameras in on a first exploration, and the convent is so close to where I live that I can walk there whenever I feel like it to get photos. oh and RW's radio transmission towers, well I figure if i really think of something interesting to shoot there i could just ask him nicely. but anyhow here are a few shots I liked from the first building.

#1 - This one doesn't convey much emotion to me, and the blown highlights on the tape on the door bug me. It also seems slightly tilted to me. There's nothing wrong with this picture, it's just not a photograph (j/k but hopefully you know what I mean)

#2 - the blown highlights bother me, but I still like it. I would like to see it with part of the blown highlights cropped out. The texture of the floor is great though...conveys a floor that's seen hard years, and a floor that's now hella cold and has ice on it..haha!

#3 - For some reason the barrel distortion on this shot bothers me, and usually I like barrel distortion. You could remove it in photoshop if you wanted to. That said, I like the shot anyway. I like the off center subject that conveys this feeling that this thing is tucked in a corner, but has a whole life of it's own going on back there. Nice shot.

#4 - I like it. Sometimes these things don't work out, but I like this one.

#5 - I like the idea but the placement of the top out-of-focus railing bothers me for some reason. Maybe that's a good thing though...depends on what you're trying to convey. Good shot.

#6 - I love this, though I would process it to bring out a little more shadow detail. I wouldn't want you to lose the mood which is just fantastic, but a little more shadow detail would add interest. Either way, though, I like this shot a lot. The texture and the pipes on the ceiling are just great. Really cool.

#7 - I like this subject a lot. I like this shot a lot. In an ideal world some out of focus detail in the shadows would make this shot better, but I like it a lot anyway. The light hitting the reel is great.

#8 - Honestly, I'm not a fan of this shot. I think different processing could turn it around though. It just doesn't "say" much to me as it is.

#9 - I like this.

#10 - I like, but I feel like it should be cropped differently. I feel like there's a slightly better shot hiding in this shot. But I like it.

#11 - Too straightforward for my taste. Nothing wrong with it though. It's a good document of the room, it just doesn't move me. This shot would be ESSENTIAL if you were trying to show someone what this place looks like inside, but it doesn't work in an artistic portfolio IMHO.

#12 - I love this! Again I might crop it to make the pictures more central as a subject. If you shot it lower so you could see what the pictures were of better it would go from a good shot to a fantastic shot. I like this as it is though. I love how the light spills into the room, and it seems like the pictures are doing the same. Great shot.

#13 - I'd like to see this in B&W with more post processing. I see potential.

#14 - A vertical which emphasized the bench and stuff on the floor would be better, but I like this shot anyway. the bench and stuff on the floor is awesome. It conveys this sense that a lot of work has gone on here and a lot of parts have passed through this location. The box feels superfluous, and the circle-hole thing could be it's own subject.

Thanks for the critique Desmet I pretty much agree on all of your points, and you gave some helpful points that I didn't think about too. About the last shot, I would have liked to gotten a few more shots in that room but everyone had already left the building and were looking for me as I'd been left behind taking pictures. it was a great place though and I'd love to go back. oh and 11 is exactly for that purpose really, as I'd been pretty much taking shots of very small parts of the building, i felt i had to take a few more full views to show what the whole place looked like.
