Here are some of my pictures from my last visit to some abandoned places in Mason County, WV. These pictures are taken at both Lakin, and the old TNT plant.

Everyone let me know what you think...I've had numerous others tell me their opinions...just wanting to know what everyone thinks on UER.

#1 and #2 must be ghosts. Or Mothman.

#3 is similar to one of my photographs that I took: http://www.abandonedonline.com/index.php?catid=44&image=371 Is that in the same room? I love your photograph, great composition and nice detail on the horrid paint.

#4's composition is... well, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at. Is this at the old TNT Plant?

#5 is nice. But perhaps turn away from the light source and shoot something, like the boiler or the rollers on the ground, which would be better in terms of composition and interest. The bright light sort of distracts my eye.

#6 is at the TNT plant? Those retention ponds are... horrid.

Number 1 and 2 are above the basement door in Lakin. I believe it was a window or something that was covered with a piece of metal. The metal had rusted quite a bit, and the holes were illuminated from the outside light. I thought it gave off a "starry night" kinda vibe.

Number three was taken in the same room, I do believe.

Number five was taken in the basement of the old Lakin post office building. (One of the many smaller buildings surrounding the main.) There wasn't really much else of interest in the basement, and that was the only one that I took down there that actually turned out nicely.

Number six was taken at the old TNT plant, which is now a wildlife preserve. I don't think it was a retention pond, or whatever. I do believe it was a marsh area. We did manage to find an old open bunker while there, that wasn't sealed off, but it was out in the middle of the water, and I didn't have any suitable shoes to wander out there and get pictures. Maybe next time, though.

Thanks for your opinion. Really appreciate it.

Next exploration I go on, I'm going to take a bunch more pictures than I did last time around. I'll post them later on...whenever that may be. Hopefully I'll get an even more positive reaction next time around.

Thanks again.

-Shane
